Anyone know what the first song is that Nicolas Jaar played at Dekmantel?

Re: "gliding" vocal pitching

I think this can be done in ableton simply by getting that vocal sample, sticking it ableton's sampler and playing the vocal on the keyboard with glide on. could be wrong though

Re: REQUIRED: Headphone Amp advice for Sennheiser HD 650's

I thought i'd give an update on the amp/dac front. I ended up getting the magni & modi stack from electromod.co.uk (really fast delivery, ordered monday morning and received the items the day afterwards!) Having sold my Quad Capture i had to rely on plugging the HD 650's to my laptop (whilst my ...

Re: REQUIRED: Headphone Amp advice for Sennheiser HD 650's

Schiit. The Modi and Magni are exactly what you need. Analytical 96khz DAC and headphone amp for $200 for the pair. I've read reviews saying the HD650 pairs excellently with them. The DAC, if anything, is a hair on the forward side so it's a perfect complement to the slightly laid back signature of...

Re: REQUIRED: Headphone Amp advice for Sennheiser HD 650's

Why not look at getting a decent D/A with headphone socket? I just ordered some HD600's (should be arriving this morning!) and plan to use them with my benchmark DAC1 (which isn't actually too much more than your budget 2nd hand considering you'll be upping your D/A conversion too!) Thats interesti...

REQUIRED: Headphone Amp advice for Sennheiser HD 650's

Hello fellow forum users, not posted here for YEARS, so much has changed! Anyways I’ll get right to it. I currently run lovely set of Yamaha hs80ms through the wonderful Roland Quad Capture – everything’s gravy here; I love the combination except the neighbours don’t quite share the same enthusiasm....

Re: Nicorisone - Diversion (WIP)

It's a really nicely put together piece so far, the drums hit hard but somehow suit the song, I like the synth that comes in after the vocals but im not sure where you'll go from there

Re: 5ONE - PROG FIGURE I [HOUSE?]

Yea i also agree, the intro could do with some more work, at the moment it sounds a bit bare, but the percussion sounds spot on, really cuts through the mix rather nicely. Bass needs to be turned up a bit though

Re: ispo - tired//lonely (ambient/Electronic)

You've got a really beautifull chord progression/ melody there. The percussion really suits the mood of the whole tune aswell and doesnt overpower the track but instead adds to the atmosphere of the track rather nicely! I do like the fact that it's a slow builder aswell. well done

Re: Loops Vs. Making your own sounds

i dont think there's anything wrong in using loops as long as you layer them with your own elements.

Re: Techno & House Production Thread (Not for Feedback)

Does anyone know how scuba goes about creating those lush synth pads in tunes like dsy chn and his latest track hardbody (you can hear it in the breakdown) sounds a bit retro and cheesy but i would to learn how he makes them. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HnznvETexBc (3.30 min mark of this track) h...
