Re: WORKS-IN-PROGRESS for SEPTEMBER, 2010

@beatbum. Your levels sound good to me. And don't worry about what your soundcloud waveform looks like, It's the sound that matters :D

Re: WORKS-IN-PROGRESS for SEPTEMBER, 2010

@beatbum. Really like this track man, works really well. like the piano and the melody, especially around 2:50, sounds real good with the sub. Only thing for me was the synth with loads of tremolo. The heavy panning is a little too much imo. Great work though :D http://soundcloud.com/bigfatmonkey/fr...

Re: Albino 3

I got to agree with mojomusic. Albino is a huge synth and good for bass and pads, I use it for alot of high pitched stuff too, white noise sweeps and such. Like any synth it just takes some practice to learn how to get the different sounds out of it. It's my main synth and one thing I always use on ...

Re: WORKS-IN-PROGRESS for SEPTEMBER, 2010

@Zuta. Your track is really cool, love the hoovers and the individual sounds are well produced but that first drop is a bit too loud and distorted. Would sound much better if the vol. was more in line with the rest of the track and not so crunchy. @Peggy. Nothing bad I can say about Emirate Eliments...

Re: WORKS-IN-PROGRESS for SEPTEMBER, 2010

@superginger, listened to champagne and stay. Champagne is a real nice sounding track, love the kick and snare they really punch through and I like the high synth, well produced. Not into the vocal sample though, way too harsh imo for what could be a really smooth track. Love the piano and vocal in ...

Re: LOGIC ultrabeat help needed

Took me a while to figure that one out too! :D Ultrabeat is great for making drums. I use it all the time, especially for kicks and snares. Apologies if you already do this but for me figuring out how to use the drag and drop samples was a big step forward in getting the sounds I wanted. It's great ...

Re: stuck in a rut

I've had problems with this too. Having to create different synths is a pain, especially if they're all making exactly the same sound. Eats up cpu on my laptop too! I tend not to use automation, mainly because it's a bit of a pain to use in Logic and I've found it hard to get a clean transition when...

Re: WORKS-IN-PROGRESS for JULY, 2010

@2nd world. Just listened to your tune. Nice feel to the track, the synth and wobble work well together i think. Some more layering on the wobble would sound good and a bit of mixing down to put some space betwen each instrument, if that makes any sense! :D @Boring. Really like the Stuntman track. L...

Re: WORKS-IN-PROGRESS for JULY, 2010

@Kontrol. Nice work. Love the intro on both tracks. I think there should be a smoother transition out of the intro the intro on shes twisted. Like the bit of vocal you've cut in just after the larger breakdown near the middle, more of that please :) . Vexd shent remix is my favourite of the two, per...

Re: WORKS-IN-PROGRESS for JULY, 2010

@Weedkeepa. Thanks for the feedback, much appreciated. Will definitely have a look at the kick and snare. I haven't done any mixing down yet so hopefully they will stand out in the mix more once that's done. @Paravrais. I'd be interested to know what you thought of my track. The link is on page 17. ...

@weedkeepa. Like the wooden dick track, sounds a bit empty though. Perhaps add another oscillator or two, layer it up a bit. Try a bit less reverb too.

@charliefoy. Some nice sounds in there i think. Perhaps try varying the drum edits at the end of each bar and perhaps a few one off samples to keep it fresh

Re: PUT YOUR WORKS-IN-PROGRESS HERE FOR FEEDBACK.

I'm new to production and this is the first Dubstep track I've tried. Made in Logic, the synths subs and mids are all made in Albino. Any feedback/ideas most welcome!!!!
