Re: WIPs/unfinished tunes for feedback * no finished tunes *

Cheers mate, was a lot of fun to make :) On your tune - remove the reverb from those kicks - when it gets into full effect it's actually rather disorienting. Loving that acid bassline, been wanting to do a track that utilizes one. hehe. General use of panning is quite nice. Like that siwtch up aroun...

Re: how to avoid muddy basslines

muddiness happens because you have a lot of emphasis in the mids between 400hz and 600hz. Having a moderate dip there using eq will really clean up the sound.

Re: Spor/Noisia Bass?

look into and read up on on neurofunk basses. It's basically a reese with a LOT of notch filter and lowpass/hipass filter automation. Couple of things to keep in mind: - distort before you notch - resample, then distort and notch again Takes a little while to understand where the sweet spots are fo...

Re: trying to get this intro/drop more interesting (feedback

so ive been working on producing for about 4 months now and I feel like I've finally made something worth posting on here...its just a 16 bar intro that needs some obvious work because its boring and then a drop which I like alot cuz its real heavy...but i feel like it gets too repetitive and needs...

Re: which vst for sub bass

Subs are generally sine waves. You can use other wave forms but they lack punch as a result. ANY synth can create a sub - just add a sine wave and move it to octave 0. Add a little distortion with overdrive or something if you want to bring it forward, just remember it'll lose punch.

Re: neurofunk basslines

In the track in my sig, I use a neurofunk style bassline stab in order to create a rather evil-sounding growl that fills out the tune. Was rather simple compared with most tutorials. Keep points to remember: 1. Simple reese patch. I used z3ta+ 2 with 6 oscillators and just detuned them all significa...

Re: HOW DO I SYNTH DROP?

how do you go about automating the pitch on only the last note? i know how to automate pitch (use massive/sylenth) but not sure how to get that last note to drop? thx for the responses. Automation and modulation are two separate things. Modulation is generally when you modulate a parameter in the s...

did not see this thread, sorry for x-posting... this is probably the more appropriate place to put this http://soundcloud.com/barsmarr/short-c-minorrender3 sound design and arrangement of this snippet still leave a lot to be desired as far as im concerned. You're not ready for mastering your own. Get someone else to do it.

Re: WIPs/unfinished tunes for feedback * no finished tunes *

it's brostep , good luck. lol

Couple of things - lots of the elements are out of tune with each other. Tonality of synthesis generally doesn't fit together - drum sample usage need work - and this all only comes with practise.

You're new - it'll come in time :)

Re: NI Maschine Mikro

Youtube, really is the best bet. Sometimes it can be hard to find specific tuts but - also check out the maschine tutorials. Apart from the lack of knobs, they're exactly the same piece of kit so pretty much everything that works on the Maschine, will work on the mikro.

Re: WIPs/unfinished tunes for feedback * no finished tunes *

@amphibian Yeah i hear you on the hard panning,i only spent 8 hours on it so will edit some of it that sounds weird but i like it in some parts of the track. Also the snare does have too much high but i haven't done any eq/mixing to the track yet so i will get to this. Your track i really enjoyed,th...

Re: WIPs/unfinished tunes for feedback * no finished tunes *

@darj - really nice man. Love that reversed snare at some points, really fitting. You might want to look at the tonality of the introduction synths though - doesn't quite gel with the overall "deepness" of the tune. Sub is quite nice. Personally I'd ease off on the saturation just a bit on your sine...
