Re: Most embarrassing thing you've done producing?

Wondered for a full hour why fruity loops was 'muted' - then realized my speakers weren't plugged in... FAIL

Re: most inspirational tracks you've heard?

Everything Vince Dicola has ever written for the Rocky and transformers movies, seriously awesome compositional skills and some really nice sound design. Nothing ground breaking but very cool and quite individual to him.

Re: Melodic/musical dubstep :)

If it's for music A/s you're probably going to have work to a higher standard than most dubstep does. You'll need key changes, maybe some time signature changes, definitely some tempo changes, a lot of rhythmic variation, and whatever you make will probably need to (to some degree) reflect works you...

Re: So, how do you guys stay up late in the studio ?

I have sick ass ideas for a track, i really need time to put stuff together and make new sounds, but unfortunately i have work in three hours -_-, so i was thinking why not just work on the track throughout the night? ive tried in the past but i tend to fall asleep and have NO drive at all to produ...

Re: Wut is dubstap?

More of a compliment being told its not dubstep isn't it? You wouldn't want to fit into the box of what most people consider dubstep unless you want to be un-original. I don't really care about being original or unoriginal. I'd just like to be associated with a community I grew as a part of and dev...

Re: Site for Sheet Music?

Online sheet music is a complete pain in the ass to find, especially for artists who don't fit into pop or film score, best bet is to go to the artists official page and try hunting some down from there, or searching on amazon or ebay, it never costs that much. If you can't find it that way then it...

Re: Wut is dubstap?

Oh look, its this thread again  This isn't the first time I've seen you waste posting in threads you don't even like or want to contribute to. If you don't like a thread or don't think it's relevant don't post in it. Pretty simple. You've essentially just bumped a thread you think contains a ...

Wut is dubstap?

Warning: Potential 'tl;dr' thread. A more accurate title for this thread might be: "what is dubstep to you " Recently I've been getting a lot of pointless 'feedback' along the lines of "why are you calling this dubstep" and "this isn't really dubstep" it kind of bugs me. Here's a slightly edited (g...

Re: Album Writing

Dude are you kidding me? Depone, stop stealing my fucking ideas. I started writing music for my album with an idea EXACTLY like yours 5 days ago. Like it's the exact same idea, to do all the styles I like, and to make them go with eachother and sort of tell a story, or multiple stories. Yea, Depone...

Re: So many good producers!

The easyness of learning production is actually decreasing the number of good tunes, because it's so easy to come out with a shit one and get attention. Do you ever think before you type? You could let a monkey make posts on your behalf for a month and I don't think anybody on this forum would noti...

Re: Interesting sound design

Have to second the CoD games, Dead Space 2 as well, and the first was quality too. Nice sound design, bit cliche at times with regards to the sound track, but ultimately the cliche worked and that's what matters. I heard some cool sounds in the Insidious movie too; wooden crackling sounds for the jo...
