Re: What is Feedback on your Music? ...

Why does feedback actually matter. Well, since music is art you could argue that nobody is right or wrong on this issue and that feedback doesn't matter simply because you've decided it doesn't and that ultimately you can write tracks using a blender, three elastic bands, the recordings of cats bei...

Re: You know, at the end of the day we’re making MUSIC

What's with all the hate towards presets? Most of those preset sounds are designed by guys who've worked in the sound design field for years or have been producers/musicians for years. They craft some really cool sounds. When I first started I hated presets, thought they sucked so hard, but really I...

Re: Sending mastered tracks to a label?

Protip guise, there is A LOT of money to be made in IDM and I mean A LOT. You just gotta get a sweet business plan that consists of spending 5 hours a day ranting on forums.

Re: Sending mastered tracks to a label?

Cba joining this discussion btw, Toric is obviously a tool, no point trying to educate or help him as you'll just polarize him further into the position he already holds. So instead of contributing I've compiled some of my favorite Toric quotes: 1., I am ALSO a classical pianist... It's an industry ...

Cool idea, hope it gets off the ground, there are quite a few forum members tracks I wouldn't mind seeing laid out like that.

Re: Are we getting any more producer q and a's

i'd love a kaiori breathe one, such a unique sound, would love to learn where it came from! How I Got My Sound I had my sound bestowed upon me one summer, as I traveled Africa, by the magic of a triumvirate of witch doctors (who went by the names: Abayomi, Dabir, and Zo). As part of their ritual of...

Re: Sub a dub dub

There's no reason why you can't do that really, works the same way as live music does, if you kind of imagine your pads and your sub are just different strings on the guitar it helps, like if you play a G note in your sub and the notes A-D-F# up top it's kind of like playing a G/Dmajor on guitar. So...

Re: Shlohmo's beats

The thing I actually like most about artists like Shlohmo isn't the percussion, although, it is lovely, it's more the piano writing, there's all these big splashy hits of notes, that seem almost unco-ordinated, kinda like tone clusters in atonal music, but consonant and pretty.

Re: Various aliases?

I've had various thoughts about this... I made the conscious decision to release everything under one name, thinking it is treating listeners as stupid to believe they can't logically understand that the same person can create different styles without confusing or misleading the audience. Turns out...

A Scanner Darkly - Kaiori Breathe

Couple of dnb tracks here, bit different from my usual output - was kinda just messing around with filters and resampled bass sounds and some darker atmospherics - think it turned out alright. (yes, I know, this is the dubstep forum, but i don't really have anywhere else to get crit tbh, so hopefull...
