Re: Efficiently producing with a partner
I work with my best friend who uses Cubase and is real into recording. I use Reason, so i don't have that ability and it's a real nice match-up. He knows everything about hardware and I can fix any problem he has with software quickly. Works out perfectly until our artistic tastes clash

Re: WORKS-IN-PROGRESS for JULY, 2010
@ Skriptah - That's a sick vocal sample, but the "darkness" underneath doesn't really meld with it. The kit is spot on, though, i'd definitely keep that. But the pad and the synth at the end don't really match the mood of the vocals. @Baan - real dub vibe here, great stuff. Put some stuff ...

Reason being slow
My computer's speed is just fine, but when I open up a project or a patch or anything in reason it takes a good few minutes. It isn't over 10 minutes like i've heard on other sites, but regardless it's really killing my workflow. This wasn't happening 3 days ago, and I haven't done anything to my co...

Re: Why I like producing
I love producing mainly because you don't have to hassle and compromise with band members. Everything that comes from my speakers is 100% my own subconscious speaking to me. I was really into punk, so I joined a band, and everyone was on the level till we couldn't get creative enough and all of a su...

Cant do it, all i wanna do is eat and sleep after a zoot quit with the cheap ass indicas. Get that purebred sativa and clear your schedule for the next 12 hours. This. I got a connect on this trainwreck that's been cured to perfection... OOHWEE shit just lifts me up man. Great for reviewing a track...

Re: What I wish someone would invent....
when you're talking about sequences of notes, nothing is original.
I hear filthy augmented bass is the new fad, though. Darn kids!

Re: Songs not in 4/4..
Calling them triplets or calling it 3/4 is the same thing, it's just semantics. It's the same feel except one's just written differently. Except its not. triplets refer to the feel each each beat; 3/4 refers to the number of notes in the bar (obviously, I know). The two concepts are referring to di...

Re: Songs not in 4/4..
Clubroot - Nexus I think its in 6 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mG_Nj5OOn8A No music theory dood, but I can count this in 4. What am I doing wrong? it starts in 3/4 for sure... jumps over to 4/4 later. Count the hihat pattern, first time it's doing about 6 hats per bar, the later it's got 8 Given ...

Re: Processing Power
Well I'm not rock solid on it, but i'd prefer the laptop for the sake of convenience. I don't stay home much, i'm usually out and about. Plus, i hate sitting in a chair for hours on end, but that's just a comfort and I don't need it. I could buy parts and build my own machine, but I don't know if it...

Processing Power
So I'm shopping around for a laptop for the sole purpose of using Reason 4.0 and Ableton Live 8. I haven't used either of them, but I have messed around with fruity loops 7. Thing is, I was using an old vaio pcg-grx550, which had a 1.6 Intel Pentium IIII with 512 RAM (Top of the line when we got it ...
