Re: WORKS-IN-PROGRESS for JANUARY, 2011

Steeple- I like this track mate, its a good un. nice percussion for the intro and good synths throughout well done :) Kayadubz- Just for sampling the temptations on a dubstep tune you have my respect sir. its a good tune as well, the midrange wobbles suit the samples and the mood of the tune nicely....

Re: WORKS-IN-PROGRESS for DECEMBER, 2010

nnny-nice intro, pretty haunting little riff i like it. nice sub, very chilled vibe on the whole track works well. only thing i could say is maybe make the piano sound slightly clear on the intro it sounds a tad muffled to me. Dodstep-writing while listening to this, really good sense of atmosphere ...

Re: what do i do with this bass

Thanks for all the suggestions guys its helped out a lot! VirtualMark, thats what im trying to do, control it. I sorted some of the effects out on it in the song im putting it in now anyway, and that specific bass is only getting used for the first 16 bars so no offense taken man.

Re: Oh look, it's THAT thread again...(question about DAWs)

Iv tried reaper and that didnt do it for me, FLs good man, the new versions are as good or better than other DAWs, the step sequencer is a beast for drum sequencing. like others said above, prepare to be mocked by all for no logical reason.

Re: WORKS-IN-PROGRESS for JANUARY, 2011

Sqwuabblesmynig-Loving the walk hard samples man, quality film that. The build up for me is a bit long, but its just personal taste tbh. Top notch wobbles there man, slightly old ruskoish vibe about em , really nice. snick01- Brilliant production mate, mixdown is on point there, maybe the kick could...

Re: Best way to make basslines for song?

Yeah, the formula for most dubstep is the same, its usually in blocks of 16 beats or bars, forgive me im not an expert on the terminology. learn about things like progression also, at times like these googles your best friend man :)

Re: happiness & creativity

I think as a genre, dubstep is often really dark so maybe theres a correlation between being a moody tnuc and making a better tune as a result.

what do i do with this bass

Right, I made this bass patch on Albino in FL, added shedloads of distortion bitcrush etc, and Im trying to eq it so it doesnt completely dominate my mix, any ideas on how I might get this mothertrucker under control?

Once you learn basic song structure, your tunes will have a lot more direction and they'll flow a lot easier.

I prefer using synths and making my own, it feels a bit more of my own work then if you get me.

Re: Hardware for Live Dubstep, Suggestions?

Check out Magnetic mans session at maida vale, thats the only liveish setup that springs to mind. that's no live dubstep for shit. They play the songs off Ableton and let out a few things that are filled up by live musicians. That's not what the person meant. They don't use hardware synths, or even...

Re: Artists v. Personality

If the artist is a dick, I won't buy their music. Simple as. Cher Lloyd, is a horrendous bully (and thats not a wild accusation, its based on the opinion of people who went to school with her), therefore I won't support her and I hope she crawls back down the hole she came from. To bring them up ag...

I think me and you had a minor disagreement about that before but actually we both feel exactly the same way about it. I've had disagreements with everyone, I'm the verbal equivalent of a violent ape on PCP :P Absolutely, and for some it will never be more that that but for some there will be a new...

Re: Skrillex has got me all giddy & I can’t sit still...

Skrillexes tunes are good technically, but they just don't do it for me really. Never took to SM and NS, just thought it was shit really. Id rather listen to somebody like High Rankin or Downlink, i think they do filth far better, and high rankins funny with it too.
