Re: [Reggae Dubstep] Demise - 40 Days

The snare sounds a bit quiet man, I'd try and give it more space. I really like this track tho, uplifting, I love the little sounds you got going off all over the place, sounds like a good use of stereo imaging :)

Re: How to fix a crashed desktop pc hard drive?

A few years ago my desktop pc crashed so i got a new one. I recently found the computer in my garage and would liketo be able to use it again. Is there a way to wipe the hard drive clean and then use it again or would i need to buy a completely new hard drive? Whenever i boot up theconputer is give...

Re: Rolling off the high end..

Basically i do what you guys do, roll off hats around 17k. I don't want the high hats too prominent in the mix. Also on a tune i'm working on at the moment i used a notch filter on the hats around 4k to filter out something that i found to be ear fatiguing/annoying. I don't always do this but found...

Re: happy production mistakes thread

yeah, that's a good one... when your playback fucks up or you dropped a loop point stupidly on the wrong bar line, or accidentally hit the solo button on the mixer, and it suddenly gives you fresh inspiration for an arrangement/switchup on your track similarly, dropping a block of midi accidentally...

Something every producer is always striving to achieve.

Definately could do with a better structured build up mate, your drop just sort of "happens". You might also want to think about your low end, get some sub bass in there! :)

Re: Desolate - Mind

You have some nasty reverb on that kick, which is muddying up the mix a shedload. I'd sort that out man, could probs do with some EQ on your sounds as well to create some space in the mix.

Re: Fitness Dubstep Music?

As a regular jogger and fitness junkie, I tend to go for something pumped up, like UK Funky, Jungle and Breakbeat Hardcore. But nowadays my selection's getting dry, and i'm feeling for some Dubstep in my workout fix. Maybe something like this: www.youtube.com/watch?v=A2qKrPJb1q8 www.youtube.com/wat...

Really nice man, quite unique sounding. Your mixdown is crisp, and the bass is heavy. Not much more anyone could ask for :)

Re: [Darkstep] Demise - The Unwraveling

Both tunes are really well produced. However, both are in SERIOUS need of sub bass. Really lacking in that low end man

EDIT: On second listening your second one isn't too bad sub bass wise, though I'd still boost it a tad. Menancing bass is where it's at :W:

Re: Getting synths to flow together...

But I don't think you understand, It's not that this new synth does not fit over the other, it's that when it comes in, the first synth cuts out immediately, as with a lot of tracks in this complextro sort of style (even in dubstep I hear synths cut in and out quickly, almost switching with each ot...

Re: Clowns rape little children

koncide: Listening back i would for sure agree on cleaning the drums up. I just bought the sample pack with those so havnt experimented much with them. I was thinking parallel compression as well as some normal comping for that punch. Yeah man for sure, compression is where it's at. For the style y...

Re: Clowns rape little children

Clown rape is not funny. Clowns rape an estimated 5 million people every year.

As for your tune, I'd work on your drums man, your snare especially is crying out for more punch. Try using compression to shape the trasients :)

Re: Getting synths to flow together...

You could try panning some of these extra synths away from the middle. Not only will this give the track extra width and fill things out, but will help to reduce mudiness as you arn't cramming everything into the same space in the stereo field. A lot of people over look panning as a technique IMO, w...

Sup guys im having a bit of a copyright problem with my latest tune. I used a sample of a piano from a popular goth band, actuley it was pretty much the whole melody. i used it for the intro for a tune (which i didnt change much) and for after the tune drops where i went crazy with it making it arp...

Re: Skrillex & Damian Marley – Make It Bun Dem (TBA Remix)

You going for that Beatport comp? I have a mate also going for that, and I downloaded the stems just out of curiosity. Good luck! :W: I feel like your snare could use a bit of a reverb tail. It's nice and punchy, but it just sort of ends abruptly. Maybe some reverb on your top bass as well. It stic...
