Re: Ableton problems. I need help!

I tried my Korg nanoKey and the same problem happens. I'm just letting my computer off for a lil while, I might just reinstall ableton, I don't know if that's going to work though. Do you happen to know if unistalling it and installing it is possible? Well, more specifically, I actually bought the p...

Re: Ableton problems. I need help!

Yeah, tell me about it...I sent a detailed email to the Ableton tech support, hoping to hear back from them before the day ends. I really don't like letting my computer just sit there...

Re: Ableton problems. I need help!

Well, wi-fi wouldn't be a factor with me. My tower doesn't have a wireless card. I purposely didn't buy one so I wouldn't get side tracked while jamin.
It does, the one square blinks yellow and the little...sensor thing on the midi channel goes up showing how hard I pushed the key.

Re: Ableton problems. I need help!

Yeah, I just retried the computer keyboard and that did nothing besides show that I was pushing the keys without actually controlling the piano sound I want it to play. It is an odd issue, It only happens when I try to use the keyboard. I set up the volume slider on my keyboard to control different ...

Ableton problems. I need help!

Okay, so i just recently bought Ableton and a new midi controller, m audio 61es keystation. I was having a blast yesterday playing around with both. Everything was going swimmingly, but today something I don't understand is happening. The latency of my keyboard is minutes long, meaning I play someth...

Oh! Alright, I know what you're talking about. Now I finally have the name for it. Thanks. I like that I can just assign a button to the variations.

Re: So, I'm buying camelaudio's Alchemy soon.

a lot of effects can just be controlled with an lfo or simple slopes. That is completely understandable. I've tried recording manual modulation with my oxygen25 for this one bassline I was fiddling with, but it didn't have that exact feel I was looking for. When I shoot for a dubstep feel I tend to...

Re: So, I'm buying camelaudio's Alchemy soon.

Pads, Leads, basses, loops. All of the above. You can add immediate variation and change-ups. The transition between morphing blocks is very smooth so the change is always very organic sounding. Evolving leads, pads that develop into large soundscapes. Use a big harmonic bass note or pad and load i...

That sounds like it can get interesting. What do you generally use that technique for? Specifically, do you use it for your pads, leads, basses, loops?

So, I'm buying camelaudio's Alchemy soon.

I was wondering if anyone who uses this soft synth would like to be my Q&A guy. I'm really pumped for it, so I want to be as prepared as possible. I'm also reading the manual so I get the controls all figured out, at least the basics, but I wanted to ask for some nifty tricks the manual won't explai...

Re: How do you go about producing emotions?

no but really... you just need to stop hearing the sounds and start feeling them. if they don't feel good to you, the notes need to be different. if you can't get the notes sounding 'right', you need to get more practice at playing an instrument or singing, possibly need to relax more, and be less ...

Re: How do you go about producing emotions?

Dubstep in my opinion is kind of lacking a lot. I could explain the basics in about 5 steps(minus the technical stuff like sound design). Do it then. Step ONE: Make catchy intro Step TWO: Build up tension Step THREE: Pause/let sample play Step FOUR: Smack bassline in with some variation and samples...

Re: How do you go about producing emotions?

You can use theory to break music/emotion down and try to form a basis for a tune, but really, I don't think you can teach this kind of shit in an organic way. You say "I have making sounds and mastering the right way and putting things in the correct order, but I'm stuck on trying to get a certain...

Re: How do you go about producing emotions?

take a burial tune for example, if you used a standard reese instead of a lowpassed one, or if it didn't have that bit of reverb would it still tug at the same emotions? just listen to some tunes that evoke an emotion in you and ask what does that, is it the key it's in (just play it on your keyboa...
