Re: Comparing Europe to Australia

I don't know where you guys get these bizarre ideas about Australia, like this whole idea that life here is an every day fight for survival cos everything wants to kill us and the spiders are as big as your head. I mean yeah, be careful in long grass in hot weather if you don't like getting bit by ...

Re: Complextro breakdown and tips p2

Everything I have to say about EQ’ing/Drops- First things first, you do NOT have to EQ every single sound you put into your mix. Too many people can’t seem to understand this concept. EQ/processing is mainly used to give sounds a more natural feel. Yes, you do, if you want to make sure that there's...

Re: Matching Peaks?

It makes sense to use as a starting point and then use your ears to get it tighter in time. Exactly. Any producer will tell you to use some kind of analyzer etc.. to get yourself in the ball park. Your ears are your most reliable tool. What kind of analyzer would a producer/engineer use to match au...

Re: Getting a snares tail to stand out.

The tail for an 808 or a 909 clap sits around 1khz~4khz, while the body between 200 and 500hz. Just make sure you have space for it in the mix and you should be good. just distort it with tube drive / overdrive style distortion (rather than saturating, like someone said above) after compressing a bi...

Re: i always get to a point that i dislike all my tunes :<

If you can loop something over and over even when it's a 16bar beat with a sub underneath it, it's a keeper. If you can't, ditch the track and recycle the parts or send it to someone else for a collab. Doesn't really matter in how much time you finish it, but you gotta be 100% with every part of the...
