Re: The Wire

I was completely enamored with this show when I watched the entire series for the first time in 2010. Excellent writing and dialogue and character development despite the large range of characters.

Soul of Seun - Idle (Atmospheric)

https://soundcloud.com/soul-of-seun-s-o-s/idle A new tune I just completed. Not sure about this one. I struggled with the percussion in terms of amount of reverb, volume, sound design etc. Any thoughts on tune overall especially mix-down suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thank you for listening.

Re: Holo Y - In The Dark

Pretty sick intro and nice tune overall. The bassline is a highlight. The synths and hats add nice colorful textures and the vocals give it some personality. Really nice job overall.

Re: PeaceTreaty ft. Anabel Englund - In Time (Verlichting Be

Seems like there is a brief skip at 0:11 where the piano line comes in. There is some nice work on the hats here and percussion overall is solid. The oscillating bass-lines are a tad generic in my opinion. That's the only gripe i have. Sounds like there too much wetness on the reverb there. But, not...

Re: Caress

I like the effects you have going on in this intro. The baseline that came around 0:22 sounds a bit dissonant, as if it was detuned heavily IMO and stands out. The synth at 2:50 suffers from the same issue, too heavily detuned. But the percussion the encompasses that from 3:00 is very nice work. The...

Re: Riaz - The Rush (mastered) (drumstep/drum and bass)

The main synth melody is solid. The Reese bass line is ok but seems a little dry on the reverb and overly detuned. The snare is kind of generic, however. On the positive, The tune really seems to come together after the breakdown at 1:32. Overall good work on this especially with the oscillation on ...

Re: Echoi - Floating In Darkness - [Minimal Drum & Bass]

I really like the syncopated percussion on this. Solid mix-down as well, with a powerful subby kick. Good synth work as well. Nice job.

Re: Do People In SNH Still Listen to Dubstep?

Dubstep still comprises the majority of my music listening experience. I'm a late comer to the scene having only started listening in 2011, so I still like trying to find old tunes and releases by artists I didn't know about. I tend to listen to the established producers most of the time. Tunnidge, ...

Re: Metastaphia - Dance of the Stars (EDM)

Intro is solid, the piano does seem like it's too out of tune. The synth that comes in at 1:00 has some white noise on it that I don't works too well. The track could also do with some type of snare. Still a pretty solid track, though it gets a bit repetitive after while.

Re: Miley Cyrus - Wrecking Ball (Whyrez FG Blueball Bootleg)

The beat is super is quite smooth. AT times it seems Myley's vocals are slightly out off beat. I think the snare is also a bit intense for the vocals. The vocal was chopped very well however. Overall, very good track.

Re: Are you happy with your music?

I'm happy with my progress but my tunes are still need a great deal of work. When I started out, I was fucking terrible. That was back in November. I'm still only so-so. My tunes are getting more nuanced, I'm improving in sound design. I'm still getting the hang of mixing and having smooth transitio...

Re: Zomboy Copy Cat of the Year

No problem with sampling at all. Hip Hop gained its footing using samples from released tracks from other genres. It's more about the end product for me so if someones samples derided sounds from a derided producer, there's a very good chance the final product won't be very good and they will subseq...
