Re: Alright Newbies, Ask A Question
Can you please explain gain staging, or rather why/if it's important in a digital (32 bit float) environment?

AU FM synths that can draw harmonics like Sytrus or Operator
Does it exist? Watched Frequents tutorial (dope) where he used operator. THere, and in sytrus, you have a kinda "harmonics draw". I'm not sure if it's the same thing in those two synths, but I tried both and its great. I love logic, it's workflow and plugins, but it's FM synth (efm1) is not the best...

Re: WIP Thread - GIVE FEEDBACK TO OTHERS BEFORE POSTING!!!
Just going to make 2 posts because I made one earlier in reply to @LukeRaith. @cmgoodman1226- This is really good dude, I enjoy this type of beats. Very good work! It gets a bit too loopy though, I know that's kinda part of the sound but try to add some stuff that spreads out/differs over several ba...

Re: I built a hand-drawn waveform Synth -- feedback please!
Dope! Make this an AU/a vst haha! You can press your keys to play, but it's in a really high octave, add an option to change what octave your keyboard is playing in. Also (this is probably hard though) you should add the abilty to be able to quantize/change the notes of your recording. That would be...

Re: Where do you draw the line?
Yeah I write all my tunes in C minor just cause I'm lazy and I know C minor best. But most of my tunes just "come out" differently, I don't think about what lines to draw and where to draw them. Just make tunes when I feel inspired and, when you actually feel inspired the tunes won't sound exactly t...

Re: Different Aliases
Have one account that's serious where you mainly upload one style of music. And then another one with a different name where you just upload whatever you feel like. In the description of your main account, go "I also have a second account called [@otheraccountname] where I experiment with different ...

First I was going to get this, because hey – free stuff. But then I started looking at it. Why do I need this? I have working compressors, gating plugins, eq's and filters, stereo delays, pitchers... etc.

Re: WIP Thread - GIVE FEEDBACK TO OTHERS BEFORE POSTING!!!
@MaZa1 - I like this a lot, the drop is heavy. Make the percussion drum in the beginning less computer-sounding, mess with velocity. Also I'm no engineer but the snare sounds too loud. Overall I think you should layer it with something that has a high-endy tail (long decayed 909?), to get the snare ...

Re: Clean AU sampler similar to Ableton Live's "Sampler"?
Been thinking about this myself lately. Much prefer the Sampler device to EXS24 now. You could check out Nuance by New Sonic Arts (http://www.newsonicarts.com/html/nuance.php) which is quite a simple plugin but sounds wicked. Definitely closer to Sampler than the EXS24. I use Granite a lot which ag...

Re: The Sub/Low-Mid Range Bass Thread
I'm not gonna walk thru the whole thing but some key elements: -reverb -getting the stabby envelope right -using the right source (wavetable - metal sounding) -LFO acheives the "wuh wuh" effect I would use massive or fm synthesis for that. probably what he used. True, thanks. (just to clarify I mea...

This is one I have been wondering how to make, the one on 1:03 (wahh).
This must count as a mid range sound right?
"uueheh mainstream uheheuhe"
Anyone care to explain how that is done?

Its not really even an issue for me dude. I dont need to quantize anything. I sequnce and record with Maschine...guess i should have said that. But I noodle everything out live first or use the sequencer on the Micro. Im not really a proper keys player :) when I talk about it being an instrument......
