Re: What is your favourite modulation system to use?

Loads of people are saying that the drag and drop system works well for them. What is it that you specifically enjoy about the system? Patrick :) Well the drag and drop system works well in software because it's essentially taking the logical "you can follow what you're doing" approach of a modular...

I need top check out the Fabfilter stuff by the sounds of it then :)

Thanks for the heads up. :)

-------------------------------------------- The Hip Hop Approach Say 'uh' a few times and do a few shout out's before the beat drops and launching into the first verse. Re: How to create intro for dubstep? Where to get inspiratio

Hello Donald, welcome to DSF! :) A great way to learn is simply to listen to other music you like and copy what they have done. --------------------------------------------- Common Ways To Start A Tune You'll notice that some tunes start with a beat, others with an instrument and others still with a...

Hi Matt

Hope you're well and ain't coughing still!

Just want to say thanks for all the good responses you've posted on DSF as Depone and for your tune 'DX7 Heaven' which I still listen to regularly :)

Whatever you post under next, I'm sure you'll be on the ball still.

Keep it up!

Take care :)

Re: What hardware synth would you choose?

The point is that the analogue circuitry in a synth has it's own character futures_untold. Saying that it all sounds the same is like saying all amps driving speakers sound the same as they're all doing the same job. At the micro level of the hardware vs digital debate, then yes, different circuits...

Re: What hardware synth would you choose?

Yeah okay Wolf, but a Tempest is a tool made by god himself. If you fart on it you get a better drum loop than any Battery project. Another off-topic discussion here.. What the fuck is Battery?! I bought it in Komplete 8 and I've never once used it. What's the point over just using Maschine or what...

Re: What hardware synth would you choose?

Re: software vs hardware, tis is the biggest bullshit argument ever. Both digital and analogue work using electricity making a speaker move the air around us which we perceive as sound. Neither has the edge when it comes to this, both do the same thing. :u: I already beefed people for going off-top...

What is your favourite modulation system to use?

Some synths are easier to program than others, based partly on the layout of the synth, partly on the visual theme and partly on the modulation system. What are your top two modulation systems to use when programming synths? (See poll above, two votes per person) Personally I really like pre-routed ...

Whatever the latest Korg and Nord keyboard/synth is. :U: When I was younger, I used to love spending hours in the keyboard room at the local music shop just flicking through the patches on those things. :6: ----------------------- Re: software vs hardware, tis is the biggest bullshit argument ever. ...

A recent addition to the sampler is Nuance by New Sonic Arts. It looks very clean and easy to use for basic sampling. (http://www.newsonicarts.com/html/nuance.php)

Re: Sampler VSTs?

Imageline Directwave is pretty close to the NN-XT from Reason (but way better). It ain't quite Kontakt, but it is a tidy sampler imo. :)

Let us know how you get on with the plugin suggestions in this thread. :)

Re: pogo-effect

Actually, playing with it will take some trial and error with the rate of each LFO and the modulation amount to get a useable effect. Try slowish LFO rates to start with. Also helps to hear what's going on with a longer midi note, at least 8 bars I'd say. Reason users can cheat and use one of the Ma...

Re: How to get Itchy synths?

Itchy was using the 'good for dubstep' as a marketing ploy. Remember that any synth is good for dubstep and that good dubstep comes down to imaginative song writing and a healthy dose of sub bass. If you want presets, choose a synth like NI Massive or Camel Audio Alchemy that have loads of patch ban...
