Re: What is Best Audio Interface for under $300?

Where can you see that you'd get a free NI synth of your choice for free with the Audio Kontrol? I dont see it neither in thomann nor the official page.

Re: music production on laptops???

Bought a brand new Toshiba for 350 pounds last summer. 3gb ram, 250gb hdd dual core. Working on ableton+reason rewired and had no major problems. Works great. I've heard Toshibas last long.

Audio interfaces with phantom power

Recommend me some great sounding USB soundcards. I currently have EMU 0202 which sounds great but I'm planning to buy condenser mic and it needs phantom power.

Re: YOUISLEZ - Kaks Eri Poolust (mellow with deep sub)

woop, wasnt expecting such great feedback- thanks! :D but yeah the main reason I m looking for a collab is that my tunes are short. If I work at one track too much it gets boring and I need something fresh innit.

Ableton mystical audio lag through send

So I have 4 tracks - one for kick, one for snare, one for percussion and one for hihats. I am routing them all through B return which has only an ableton EQ-eight set with highpass filter. All the 4 channels are set to ''sends only'' instead of ''master''. I layed down a 169 bpm drum and bass beat. ...

Re: Quiet output - ok to limit?

Maybe you have got automatic gain make-up on your compressor? :) Jason[/quote] What? No, I'm using the Ableton compressor and dont even touch the output fader. Even when messing with attack, release and threshold the sound's volume varies You're trying to say that I have some f'd up compressor? :D W...

Re: Quiet output - ok to limit?

thanks for the feedback! But now the only question is why do you need the output gain fader on compressor anyway? Because if I compress, the sound goes louder automatically - it's probably for use when limiting with compressors, right?

Re: Quiet output - ok to limit?

dude compress your mixer channels then its up to you if you compress the master .... i do but only a little compared to my drums & bass absolutely. to make my shit loud as possible i get my mix peaking out at 0, compress the mix to taste, export as wav. reopen it and use ozone, compress lightly, an...

Quiet output - ok to limit?

So I'm finishing this track and I have each mixer channel turned down some dbs (lowest are bass and pad -10 and highest are hihats -3). I have read those Macc instructions about gain theory, but since my tune isnt going to mastering (by now), then can I turn up the channels and add a limiter to mast...

Re: Trans effect (gate)

No, I cant achieve those really fast rates because abletons maximum envelope length is 1/32 with triplet grid. Plus you can do it more easily with chopping the encelope of ''track on''.

But I need to come down with those really fast rates like 1/64 and so on. Maybe some gate vst?

How to achieve this really fast (1/64 maybe) effect called trans on pioneer mixers but in ableton DAW? Some gating probably but more precise please? Perhaps some vst

Re: Help!! Rendered tracks from Ableton sound flat and shit

Yeah, I have quite a lot of headroom since I take down every individual channel to about -7 db average and then later tweak the master to get maximum volume, but still my mixdown is so silent (I AM NOT TAKING IT TO MASTERING!). I need to know how to make overall song louder so when I listen to itune...

what this 'bounce' means?
I seem to have the same issue altho normalizing is off. The rendered track sounds more silent or it's just me :?

Re: Ableton MIDI lag through sends

nope, no leading silence and when it's routed to master channel it works just fine.
that sucks big balls :? because I'm never too sure how much ms of delay should I eliminate on the track delay options. I definitely dont want unquantized drum hits for a 2step dnb loop.

Re: Ableton MIDI lag through sends

Wow, I think the delay option below would help, but does it affect audio quality?
And what is RTFM?

thanks!
