I borrow a set of JAMO speakers off a mate. Anybody remember these? they were the lick in the early 90's. They do make smaller ones than in the pic.

I split it 3 ways sometimes. you can get a 2 way split in a synth like massive, albino or blue.

1 sub layer.. no effects
1 mid range layer.. with effects

use more than one synth for more layers

Maybe the reason it stops recording after 4 beats is because its set to the standard pattern length? Try selecting 16 or 32 bar chunk in the playlist then recording it in.
