I used battery for a little while but didn't get on with it amazingly, but that was probably just me. I know quite a few people who use it extensively and have great results from it. I used it in Ableton and got the impression that it wasn't too taylored for it, but again that was probably just me. ...

I've recently started rewiring Reason through Ableton, but only because I'm an Ableton user wanting to use aspects of Reason. Seems to work quite well from my experience so far, I would recommend, but then again it's down to opinion on what you like to use. And to the comment about Reason being crap...
