Re: Spag Heddy Lazer?
part of what you hear is a basic lazer sound. But.. That's being layered with part of the growl, and the sub. Messing with the envelopes will yield the proper movement. But I'd look toward layering at least a few different sounds, and sharply eq'd and mixed in a group channel, so as to make sure the...

Would like to hear the finished product for shits and giggles, but I would certainly like to thank you for the time you put in for this contribution. This is a nice and thorough tutorial (for whatever sound it generates )

Re: The Prototypes - Abyss, Razor LFO bass help please.
I PROMISE you will get much closer results from using an envelope. And it also seems that there is a nice amount of distortion after the created movement. So either resample or do some nice long fx chain that gives that meaty-ness (that's a bunch of gently layered distortion/saturation in the mids)...

I appreciate and respect every word of that post. A lot of which I should try to work on more for myself.

Re: [VIDEO] Stray makes a track in 10mins
Ya know, my biggest take aways from these type of timed production challenges, are how people can see how a track get's started and evolves to the ending point (is something ever really finished?)....Anyways, it's cool to see that the pad was pretty much how the track started and holds the main vibe...

I know what OP is talking about and so does everyone else here. I myself have been at this production thing for the past 5 years now...Coming to terms with the idea that I feel guilty that my life isn't moving forward professionally, and I have a bachelors degree in Marketing and video game developm...

Re: How do I pitch a kick with a moving sub?
a 'moving' sub doesn't really mean anything if it's in key...Given that, finding the pitch of a kick sample is really what you're after... Use your ears, spectrum analyzer, and other (common) instruments for comparison i.e. piano...stuff your ears are familiar with to bring the pitch of the kick clo...

Re: Replicating this sound....
Are you looking for timbre or how it's automated?
Generally these sounds are layered and automated very clean/tight. Timbre is your typical saw/square or derivative, FM is another candidate too of course....As always, a sub layered and following the same automation, either w/ pitch or amp..

OceanAires...How about you make a tutorial on SOMETHING, and then you're able to criticize another person's contribution. I'll tell you exactly what his tutorial provided...It showed how the supersaw was used in context. He also stressed that mixing down the different layers was very important. Thes...

I would add that nvidia is much better in my experience. And noways is right again. If you're overall objective (besides performance) is audible noise reduction, cooling is paramount. At some point creating a diagram of pros and cons of what you might gain vs sacrificing for overall objective really...

OK I can definitely weigh in here b/c I'm a gamer...I read that anything beyond 2gb isn't going to be utilized unless you're using dual monitors or video editing...Most of what's going to be available for new buyers is 4g but if you're looking to cut cost somewhere and don't need to play video games...

Just ordered all the parts from newegg, and picked up the graphics card from a retailer here in the states called Fry's....But I've been building my machines for a while now and have found that newegg is better overall than tigerdirect. Sometimes tiger has stuff that newegg has back ordered, but oth...

Almost a year ago now, I made my new pc purchase. I've been a gamer longer than I've been producing, so that drove my purchase decisions....anyways: i5 - 3570K 8gb Corsair Vengeance 256gb SSD Asus gtx 670 DCU2 Asus Z77 (i think)... Corsair Case Total cost was just over 900 at the time I bought it......

Re: Driving wob sort of sound, Ghoul bass?
You need to have the harmonics on the mid/slight upper mids come out from a low pass filter...However you do this (meaning which sort of fx chain) will determine the end timbre of the sound..the example you have provided would depend on some chorus/delay/reverb and perhaps even more specifically add...

Re: "Clicky" Kick Drums (Layered over Sub Bass)
you need to learn how to layer a kick, which apparently you already know what you like, with sub bass...Keeping in mind how sub bass can be modulated to give you the effect you want. Use EQs, and compression to make something 'fit' together..

Not to self promote, (and to my testament, I address that ragga bomb is my inspiration), the track in my sig does the "International" and other stunt that skrillex does with reggae vocals...Now mine aren't effected properly, but what I do, I think he does as a foundation and that is to har...
