Re: time stretching

I forget to mention, "spear". Which is a freeware program. You can select the frequencies you want and only time stretch them if you wanted, its pretty cool. Also.... what sort of max/patch do u have and how do u use it? Its just based on granular synthesis, turning the sound into little g...

I loved all the sounds there and thought it would be cool to go over for a few weeks, record sounds and then come back and write ...

Re: time stretching

Ableton's time stretching is some of the best ive come across, thats what i use.

I also have a max/msp patch I can run thing in and time stretch in different and more elaborate ways.

Paul stretch is a cool program aswell, ive had fun with that and made sounds last for milleniums

Re: Tips on making Dubstep (NOT brostep)

mixing is a pretty generalized subject when making dance music in terms of the technical side imo.

Re: How Do I Layer a Good Dubstep Track?

Look into music theory a little bit, it helped me loads.

Get a midi keyboard and play around with scales/chords.

Write a piece of music that only uses pads and melodic elements like Ambient and you'll learn lots.

deff!

Also if its homemade it just goes to show that artist was prepared to put that little extra bit of effort in to really make it his own.
