he had 2 controllers, and 2 decks operating more than one serato setup. It was pretty intense. I'll kick up the set. While he was visiting here he was playing only turntables and his Mac. First part of the set was with the decks, somewhere in the middle he jumped to live tweakin'. Very plain setup ...

Yeah, I prefer my techno a bit more forward-looking and less european! Surgeon and Regis are the daddies. Surgeon is indeed The Daddy, saw him playing dj/live here in february. He was absolutely tearing the dancefloor into pieces, played even a couple of odd dubstep tracks! How he blended dubstep i...

Deep stuff, great harmony when the pad drops in. Maybe a bit too chill-out-ish for my taste though.

Sounds like an intro for a full blown Scuba-style minimal roller 8)

2nd that. There isn't a right tool, programming skill is essential. Stick to anything you feel comfortable with.

I don't mean to be rude but this could be better. Lacks dynamics, lazy programming, no decent melodic elements, boring structure. Take it back to studio and give it some love. I'd try some crazy looped jazz-sounds and smoky atmospheres to color this up. Much more variation to the drums, more details...

Keep in mind that this kind of guides are just primers. EQ is very powerful tool and once you've got the basics, start experimenting. 4.) No cut or boost may be greater than 6db +/- in any case (occasionally broken for cutting). I'd say don't even boost for 4 db, cutting out the unnecessary and then...

We are currently working on a project to combine a demo representation to a dubstep soundtrack. I have no idea what I will look like or what tune we will use but I'm sure that you people will have a change to see it when it's ready. Demos are sort of multimedia art, usually 3 to 5 minute pieces of d...
