Re: How to make Skrillex+ Bare Noize scatta bass??
i had some success with a low frequency saw wave, formand filter and distortion. but the sound design on skrillex's stuff is amazing, its hard to copy a sound like that.

How about a competition on dance ejay for the playstation 1, that'd be a good idea too.

Re: What sampler does everyone use?
Thanks for all the replies, from what i've read kontakt is as good as other samplers. Its just the clunky interface that annoys me but i'm getting used to it. Might give shortcircuit a tryout seeing as its free!

What sampler does everyone use?
Hey, i'm currently using kontakt as my sampler but i'm not too keen on using it. The interface isn't very intuitive, and i'm constantly looking up how to do things on it - it took me ages just to find out how to adjust the pitch bend range. Also i'm not too impressed with the filters. Are there any ...

Re: What speakers should i get?
+1 for amp and seperates. This thread is crazy, theres literally thousands of choices of amps and speakers. Depending on your room size and the type of music you listen to, anything could sound good or bad. I'd suggest going to your local hifi shop and listening to some different combinations if you...

Re: frustrated making bass
yeah i've used 10 bitcrushers on the kick drum but then i ran out of fingers to count on but i put some on the wobble too. do you think more is needed? :D seriously tho, the yoy bass is probably the easiest thing i've learnt to do so far - i just bitcrushed a wobble and tweaked it until it sounded g...

Re: frustrated making bass
Hey, thanks for all the replies! Believe it or not i've tried most of the stuff above... i think maybe i just need to practice more and read a few books. Already read 'how to make a noise' which showed some basic synthesis techniques. I know the synths i'm using pretty well but not well enough to be...

frustrated making bass
hey, i've read the midrange bass threads, been through all the links. so far i'm using massive, albino and z3ta for my sounds, and trying to split the bass up into low mid high. well actually its more low/mid, mid and high as i high pass the bass and put a sine wave sub underneath. been reading a lo...
