Re: Gear lust
safe lads is it right to say the three main types os synthesis are subtractive, additive and fm? i know theres loads more new ones now but they were the fundamentals innit? Most modern samplers are practically synths w/ all their sound sculpting abilities. Depending on the purpose of the list, seem...

Re: how to make the ultimate dubstep bass
That is what I think about 99% of modular videos...like if you want to just noodle and make noise...its cool...but I'd love to see someone actually make something we can all agree is a song ;psoronery wrote:just noise

Re: Gear lust
I would tend to agree about the JD XI...to me it kinda seems like a 500 dollar sketch book. I could see it being cool to sketch out ideas on, but I'm certainly I'd end up only using the MIDI most of the time. I'd sooner spend that money on the new Electribe if I wanted an all in one, even with its i...

Re: Gear lust
I thought the TR-8 sounded pretty good and its a step in the right direction. It looks like it would be fun to play on tactilely. I just made up a new word. The TR-3 sounds fun and that Vocoder sounds pretty fun as well. I AM NOT A ROLAND FANBOY (well sorta) and I agree with nowaysj that Roland los...

I personally don't care if you wanna smoke rock or shoot cocaine directly into your penis...but honestly 99% of the time drugs are just distraction.

I C U over there! Those Rolandites are the worst. I've never seen anything like it. Such a huge chip on their shoulders. Absolutely unable to discuss anything with them, and they get NASTY, just go for you personally, immediately. I don't know what's wrong with them, dude. Anyone paying for those n...

I'll check out the TUNA! thread later on then : ) And I'm pretty much into everything...and don't really even listen to Dubstep anymore...mostly not making it either. I thought about getting the Moog LPF as well, but I've got a lot of filters after I count them. Also that MuRF pedal looks really int...

Re: Gear lust
Finished a tune this week for the first time in awhile which feels like an accomplishment. You guys may or may not know how freakishly busy I am at the moment, so getting a bit of time to do music felt good. Thing was, I had written the tune in Amsterdam a few years ago, it was fully arranged and t...

Re: How to get motivated/excited about production again?
I know people do it for a living, but I really can't imagine sitting down to a computer and writing DJ friendly (read as: very same-y) tracks in the same genre (read as: very same-y) every day and working entirely by yourself at that (maybe a collab would help). I'm not knocking dance music, but let...

I can't really play keys properly, but having some knobby synths and FX about...its really great just noodle and make noise sometimes. I usually find an idea inside of that.
