Re: Looking to get into production

I've never used logic but since I got ableton with all the extra synths i've not needed many if any third party vsts. The effects are really good although some may disagree and operator is sooooooo powerful. And the drum racks are amazing for percussion. Plus it is known to be the standard for live ...

Re: Hey guys im new with a question

ccmixter is good for that. People upload their own homemade accapellas and then you can use them for free :). Watch out for licence issues though because some are only for not for profit use. That could be a problem if you got signed and stuff.

Re: The 'help me make this sound!' thread

Time to ask a question here... Ke$ha - TiK ToK. The bass/synth that comes in in the chorus is huge. Does anyone have an idea how to make it sound so... sharp? ...if you know what I mean It sounds really centered, like the opposite of stereo. Sure it starts off with a saw wave.. but, what's next? This is really cool. Interesting drums and wobbles. I don't even usually like much wobble stuff but this is great. Keep it up :)

Re: Sidechained Compression vs. Volume Ducking

Sidechaining is much cooler on pads and other melodic content than it is on bass I think. An Australian electro house producer called Pretension has a production tips blog where he uses the auto pan on ableton to create a fake sidechain. It gives a really good effect - http://pretensionmusic.blogspo...

Re: How do you know?????

I think it's pretty hard to tell I always feel like I've either added too much or too little to my tracks. You've got to stop somewhere though and just be happy with what you've got :)
