Re: Physics anyone?

More quantum bizarreness, this time physicists think they might have shown that an electron's wave function can effectively be divided into smaller pieces, ie the chances of finding an electron at a given location can be divvied up into bubbles of probability. http://phys.org/news/2014-10-function-e...

Re: Solar power

The numbers probably work out correct or close enough as an illustration. If I remember correctly the estimation was based on the amount of energy reached the earth from the sun. Even if you factored in inefficiencies you probably wouldn't need more than the whole area of the Sahara. There are a num...

Re: quantum computers

The thing about quantum physics is it's always the Schrodinger cat argument (at basic level, though we've gotten further in older layman terms in audio compared to gribbon's intro to quantum), the closer we get closer questions like that will no longer be quantum physics like the problem of dark ma...

Re: Cheese

Can't beat a good dollop of camembert baked with a bit of garlic.

Cheddar is great coz it can be the everyman of cheeses and still be very tasty.

Halloumi is a must for barbeques, but it does take practice to get it just right.

Gets me too wired to stay in :corndance: Dunno, a couple bottles inevitably appear when we have people over and I end up having a bit. They also appear when pre-drinking tbf. Doesn't noticeably get me wired I don'...
