Re: Sheffield Dubstep!

Was recently sent a mix full of dubstep from Sheffield based sly man, Mr Sly. Really enjoyed it so I thought I'd share!

He's got some good productions too.

Re: mutant bass, bassline, housetechnobreakyravelikemusic

Brock Out is a night based in Bristol and they also run a blog which posts many a fine link and mix. The latest one is from Submerse, who is playing up here soon, and will be battering their decks on the 16th. http://soundcloud.com/brock-out/brockoutmixtape14submerse http://brockout.biz/2011/12/02/b...

Mutant Bass, Bassline, housetechnobreakyravelikemusic

Not one of the more well rounded thread titles, but never mind..... It sums up a lot of what I'm into and like to play out, so I figured it would be good to see what other peeps thought about the sounds and get some other suggestions. Here's a lil bit of bassline..... http://soundcloud.com/piddypymu...

Re: Which Tune Split the scene to make Future Garage

Do ya reckon it would be a good idea to start a thread discussing bassline and other such things? It would make me very happy but I dunno if it's suitable for the main forum.

Re: Which Tune Split the scene to make Future Garage

Tbh I've been loving bassline/niche more than dubstep for awhile really, especially when it comes to playing out. It seems to be a tricky genre as I find loads of stuff I don't like but when it's right it's right! http://soundcloud.com/piddypymusic/piddypy-0161-part-2-clip http://www.youtube.com/wat...

Re: A look at piracy and this forum's outlook on it.

respect the artists you listen too, if you like music buy it . not a hard concept really is it Unless you haven't got the disposable income. In that case would "respect the artist you listen to, buy music if and when you can, and go to watch them when they play local" be more valid? This ...

Re: A look at piracy and this forum's outlook on it.

I would see Piracy as being a bad thing, if it wasn't for the fact that it's improved my life immeasurably. Growing up round Wigan, the only scenes being supported were Donk, Metal and the more commercial side of things. If I hadn't downloaded en masse (on a shitty dial-up I might add) I wouldn't ha...

Re: In the words of Duncan Bannatyne..... Im out.

If you went to a playstation website, and started going on about Xbox, do you reckon you'd get a positive response? It's a fair point. But you don't really have people confusing consoles up with one another. I've never known anyone to look at an XBox and say "Jesus that SNES looks weird!"...

Re: In the words of Duncan Bannatyne..... Im out.

I count myself lucky in a way, as I got into 'dubstep' around six years ago when the genre wasn't really defined and it seemed to just be bass heavy music around the 140 tempo (as I saw it anyway). It could be deep, aggy, 4x4... didnt really seem to matter. People just accepted it was something inte...
