I think Fractal is on the right track in this thread. I'd add MAH, as I think she's been vital to the growth of dubstep(she was in the same position for IDM, as well)

If it was an unknown artist to me, then I wouldnt know what style of music I was downloading. Dont want to fill up my hard drive with an hours worth of music im going to instantly dislike. If it was a Oneman or Loefah or Goth Trad or J:Kenzo etc mix then you know what kinda vibes youre going to get...

And yeah, that Surefire showcase was probably the best lineup I've seen for a dubstep show. Absolutely killer sets by all.
