Re: Prometheus / General scifi discussion
Watched Prometheus for the 2nd time last night. Thought it was a 7/10 first time round but on closer inspection I'd say it's absolutely no more than 6/10. Concept = good Execution = poor Script was awful . Pacing was awful. CGI was very good. Can't think of anything else which was very good about it...

Re: Question about what to do AFTER you've sent a demo
Honestly man, if you want people to take you seriously, learning to spell 'dubstep' properly might be a good place to start. I hate to say it, but we ignore most (not all) of the demos we're sent because they're almost 100% inappropriate. I will always reply to demo submissions though if: A) the sub...

Valor.
Also, Atlas, dude has some nice long jazzy ridds in a similar vein to Valor.
Other than that, Impey & O-Dessa (maybe not dubstep) and some of RDG's bits.

Re: Producer called Compa
Tbf, sounds to me like he sent some tunes over, Dubliminal said no, so he just didn't bother again. Ain't that big a crime. I didn't say it's a crime, just that he's a wally. We don't sign people unless we know them personally or have mutual love for eachother's music. Some of the beats were OK (in...

Get your music to DJ's.
You should want labels to find you when you are good enough, not the other way round.

Re: Producer called Compa
Compa blocked me from his Facebook page cos I asked him why he deleted a taco-related comment on there  Dude used to send us demos for Dubliminal but I wasn't really feeling them. When I asked for some stuff I was actually feeling he ignored me totally. Only heard from him again (another year o...

Re: things that have made you happy today
I think a lot of early dubstep/dark garage sounds like it hasn't aged well when you listen to it at home (and for me personally it doesn't evoke any feelings of nostalgia like dnb - cos I didn't even know about dubstep back in the day, or like garage) but in front of a proper crowd who might not kno...

Re: DJ Hype - Is Vinyl Dead?
Personally I've not been buying much vinyl for the past year or so, certainly dubstep anyway. Only about 2 or 3 new dubstep 12"s. I would however be buying quite a bit of vinyl if I had more disposable income. There's still good music being released, but things like dnb and dubstep are just bur...

Re: GTA V
I felt let down by IV when compared to SA, if that makes sense? That does make sense but personally I compare IV to GTAIII, which is in the same setting, rather than San Andreas which was the previous game. I got most of my enjoyment on III from the radio, not cheating, trying to get 5 stars and se...

OpenRA - http://openra.res0l.net/ (open source Red Alert clone/improvement/re-make) Really good fun! It's more than just nostalgic, seeing all the old units and buildings in full 1920x1080 is next-level. The AI is a bit easy but on a LAN against another person it's absolutely brilliant. Online is a ...
