minimum display and graphics that forces you to listen more rather then "watch" for sure, it would be nice to have some gear like this just to stretch the skills and instinct. same with the older rack mount samplers etc, you sample and trim where it sounds right as opposed where it looks ...

drag in a tune that has the kind of sub you are after and have a peek at it with a spectrum analyser and compare it with your track.
but the real test is mashing it through some speakers.

never thought about even going dual screen, it would be nice having the mixer up the whole time.

don't know about a breakbeat sound, I assume you mean you want drums that have a crunchy, acoustic / sampled quality? I have been using Albino 3 for the exact opposite of that (sterile, super clean drums) and it is actually quite fun. bit of a pisser having to have quite a few instances running for ...

with that stuff I'm really tidy, everything else... not so much!

(i know neither of these are the ones in question) I have DT880 Pros and AKG K530s, absolutely no comparison between the 2. the 880s are clear and 'clear', comfortable and not at all fatiguing. you still need monitors really to hear and feel how much air is getting moved and how the sound reacts out...

new minimal setup at my new place,
dell xps, yamahas and a little akai lpk midi kpyboard. technics plugged in for sampling via cheapo numark m-101 mixer.
beyerdynamic dt-880 pros for the night work and detail checking.
