Re: how do i get a bigger listening crowd?
Generally when I hear a good tune I post it on my FB wall or tweet a link to it, thus my friends tend to have a listen then if they like it they share/retweet it and more people will hear it and I'm sure loads of other people do the same thing. So basically if you want to get a bigger listening audi...

Re: 14 year old dj synthesia
Just wondering if you can actually DJ or are learning? I see loads of people who use "DJ" before their name who aren't, it's kind of a pet hate.

Re: Doing my first show, need lots of advice!
Practice your ass off - record your practices, listen to em back objectively, find your faults, and try to fix em next time through. Sorry for the double post but this is easily the best advice you have been given in the whole thread, it helped me more than anything else. Record your practice sessi...

Re: Doing my first show, need lots of advice!
Sorry - not to be an ass... but 2 months is MORE than enough time to prepare for a first gig if you are willing to work at it. This. Ive been wanting to learn to DJ since summer and early last month I finally bought a controller which I casually messed about with for 2 weeks. Then one of my friends...

A purity what? Sounds like something scared dads with beautiful daughters organize. You mean to tell me you're not even trying to get your pecker wet when the smoke clears? :u: :q: Just don't play any of this http://www.amazon.com/Christian-Dubstep/dp/B005NNVRYM/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=132571143...

Re: Piracy and its effects
Personally I never pirate music from independent artists and small labels, I see the large labels (WMG, Sony etc) as greedy bastards so they don't get my money. Software wise I stick to the golden rule of piracy, which you see every time you download pirated software - never make money from pirated ...

http://dubstepforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=159713 Take a look at the first link in section 9. Read the books listed in the 'Must Read' section. If you actually read and learn what's presented in all of the books listed you'll know more than most musicians and 'producers' around the world. :W: ...

Re: WIPs/unfinished tunes for feedback * no finished tunes *
@acrap Sounds pretty good. I think you need to make the sample stand out a bit more, seems to get lost in the rest of the sounds and I think the drop would sound better without the noise at 1.52, but that might just be me

Space in the drop
Once again I didnt get much help using the search, maybe I just dont know the terms well enough to get a good answer. I was trying to make a drop with a sort of glitchy bass which left it sounding a little empty, I tried filling the space by putting a pad under the bassline but I couldnt get one tha...

http://soundcloud.com/bratkilladubstep/bratkilla-singular-individuals I dont have any particular need to make the sound but im interested in how this bass is made. I have tried to make it in three ways, one where I tried to make it as a sort of stab (I think that is the term), two where I tried heav...

Books, magazines etc.
I'm really motivated to get good at production currently but I spend quite a lot of time away from my PC on busses, trains etc. so I am looking for any books or magazines that will allow me to continue learning when I'm bored on the bus, sure I could go on Amazon and buy random books on music theory...
