re risers: assign lfos (envelopes work too (wack up decay) to pitch and adjust the sync rate to 8/1 or whatever u are looking for in length. i like to also throw an lfo to filter cutoff and set it to half of whatever length i have set the lfo (envelope) for pitch. ie - 4/1 in this example. automatin...

assign an envelope to pitch on one osc, usually a slightly detuned saw. throw up decay on the envelope. or use an lfo and set the pitch to bend up or down 12, 24, 36 over the course of say a synced rate of 4/1... play around with those as a starter.

a bit heady but for ppl who love modulation, it should be easy to grasp after a night or two of fucking around. fm synthesis is my fav style. and i am still learning it. but the sounds are so vast!!
