Tape Stop Effect, Just Not the Tape Stop Effect...

It's rather simple, but I for the love of God can not figure it out in my head the way that I think it should be done. I'm wanting to make a transition in the track that I'm working on, and had the idea of bringing the pitch down on EVERYTHING over the course of maybe an off-beat or two. I got the i...

I would say that they threw a square wave lfo over the volume/lpf of the bass kind of like how Skism did in Red Heat, but I could be wrong.

Adventure Club Crave You Remix Intro Synth

Idk whether to call it a pluck or pad of sorts or what, but it's the synth that starts with the drums, and I can't figure out how to make it other than using a low pass and reverb.

Re: Being not born before the 80's really bums me out on thi

I've said this before... Com Truise is literally the stupidest name ever. :x It sounds like you're lacking fullness to the sounds. There's no secret to "80s synths", aside from the fact most (from the 80s - not modern remakes) are analogue based and use basic waveforms - square/saw/sine. ...

Being not born before the 80's really bums me out on this.

Alright, so I posted a thread maybe a month or two ago asking about how to make detuned 80's sounding synths (extremely n00b question, amiright?). Well, it's clearly very simple, and I know how to make said synths, but they always sound so shitty. I try to recreate Com Truise's synths every now and ...

Re: Making the Dusky bass sound

It sounds like an 80's style pluck synth, so it's more than likely sine waves (only wave the DX7 had I believe), but you can also research what waves EFM1 uses and branch from that.

Re: The Reese Bass Thread

@sofarmusic: not so much dude...revisit how you're achieving movement, synthesis, and apply EQ...I wouldn't push that thing as it's kinda done-zo. Here's the reese finished (well, part of it). I just began messing with filters, bounced it, imported it into Reason, chopped it up into different parts...

Re: The Reese Bass Thread

Spent maybe an hour working on this. I'd say this is my best reese yet, because once I start messing with filters, shit gets ruined. Tell me what you think. (I only used the internal effects of FM8) https://soundcloud.com/sofar-edm/reese-bass-upload-001 Edit: Just to be clear, I am not finishe...

Bob the Builder

Alright, so, as I'm moving rooms in my house, I'm going to be building a completely new desk from scratch, and want to put all of my analog gear in it (basically my own completely custom desk). Now, I have one simple question. Is there any sort of wood/metal/material I should route any or all of the...

One Kong, which contains 1 kick, 1 snare, 2 closed hi hat samples, 1 open hi-hat sample (same as closed just shortened a lot less), 2 crash samples, 1 china sample, a bell sample (not cowbell), 1 splash sample, 3 "physical toms", and every once in a while an extra snare for variety and for...

Re: Dubturbo... Oh god its back

I remember when I was first debating what DAW I was going to get like a year ago, and I came across this. I remember somewhere on Dub Turbo's site that it said that all of the pro's use it... What pros, exactly? I seriously could shit out DAWs in 5 minutes that are better than DT.

Re: Nasty Habits During Production?

Lately it's been not being able to make synths and leads that I like, so I normally just keep coming back to my DAW or synth to try to make something, only to save and leave the DAW empty minded several times throughout the day. I also pick my nose when thinking out of habit and wipe it on the insid...

Found a nice drum loop.

Alright, I was working with my dad today, and he turned on the radio so we could stay remotely entertained. Well, after about 5 songs on the radio, I was fed up with the garbage, but, an angel came from that radio, and played Bad Company's "Moving On", a song I had never heard before, but ...

I like the idea, just no way to record such things, since I am referring to already sampled pianos in Reason. But good thought.

Edit: Talking about the blade to strings.
