Re: Mid range freq splitting

Also, regarding compression during the resampling process. Do you guys place a compressor at the end of your chain so that its compressed lightly each and every time, or do you wait until the end and run your "finished" product through the compressor a couple times to glue it together and ...

Re: Mid range freq splitting

So do you guys use chorus / flangers etc on your MID band? I split mine @ 4k and I mucked with the highs in that manner getti...

Re: Mid range freq splitting

yes obviously thats the best way, I was just wondering how many times do you typically bounce for each fx (if doing each one seperately). Is it a 2-3 times type thing or do you put your dry/wet so low that you have to bounce 10+ times to get a noticeable effect? I just keep hearing that its so much ...

Mid range freq splitting

Hey guys, last night I was resampling one of my basslines, I frequency split the mids at 250hz and 4khz, I put seperate effects on the highs / mids. I came up with some very interesting sounds on the high end using different processing(flangers / phasers etc), but I found after resampling my mids ab...

Re: SKANNER - Christmas freebie by Native Instruments

I was messing around with it a little bit earlier, just loaded some drum samples in. It seems to do a lot better with synth samples though. How have you guys been using it? Have you achieved any interesting results?

Re: Missing Anything?

How many of your elements are panned? It seemed like a lot of your sounds are just sitting in the center which is what might be making it not seem as huge as it really is, or maybe its just lack of wide movement in your upper-midrange bass. Although it may be because I can't turn my monitors all the...

What are you asking for for christmas?

Hey guys, with christmas around the corner I'm sure many of you are thinking about giving, and also receiving :D haha. What production equipment are you guys asking for this christmas?

I myself am hoping for an akai mpk49, although I wouldn't mind a new computer monitor.

for $150 I have the presonus audiobox usb, not a bad interface if u need something basic. Has 2 ins/outs. Only downside is it only runs 48000hz sample rate.

Re: Creating shuddering, driving sonic subbass

I too am interested in this, as I feel you can always learn something new in this area. Having a decent sound system in my car I tend to over=analyze every productions low=end and I find it can varu so much from amateur productions to the pro-level stuff. The pro's somehow find a way to make super-p...

Re: which vst for sub bass

Ah ok, I'm using ableton live8. I own komplete 7 so I have fm8 absynth reaktor and I also bought razor. I also have albino 3 which I know a lot of people use but I don't use too often.

What are some common specific notes that are played for power in the sub-bass region?

Re: It's time to choose.

I have the krk 8s, I too was deciding between those two and got the krk's because I also use them for listening to music / watching tv / watching movies ( have it all chained together) and the fact that the krks are $100 cheaper a pop. I am very satisfied w/ the krks, they sound great. However if al...

which vst for sub bass

Hey guys, I have always used massive for my sub bass, set to 100% sine. Recently I read something saying that massive even set to 100% sine still has some coloration. I was wondering what synths do you guys use for your sub basses? I'm sure massive is fine but I was wondering if there was anything t...

Re: What to look for in Laptops for music production&live se

I was a windows guy and recently was in the market for a laptop and i got a macbook pro just for the hardware, knowing I can dual boot windows / mac. I now spend 99% of my time on Mac OS and only use windows when I have to. It really is that much smoother for music. No hiccups when playing back musi...

Re: Can't continue! How to make ableton hold a note!?

are you sure you don't have your loop bar set at 2 bars instead of the full length of your clip? If you have looping enabled (upper middle toolbar loop button) and its not set for the entire length of your clip then it will just loop the first 2 bars.

Re: interface question

hell yeah thanks man, I was just wondering if buying a cheap behringer mixer might be the cheaper option. Can anyone recommend a lower end usb/firewire interface that has s/pdif or RCA in? All I need it to do is accept an input from my tv and output to TRS. In the mean time i will be lurking for dea...
