I don't usually post electro house tracks here but I really want some feedback on this track. Probs needs another mixdown and a slight structure change, I'm open to any ideas on anything though. Go your hardest.

Re: The Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug by Alexander Gastrell
I understand the whole panning thing, I've done plenty of orchestral work myself. But even orchestras have plenty in the center, just seems like you overdid the panning a little. I kinda worded it wrong talking about the stereo field, it's not that things shouldn't be panned rather they should not b...

Re: The Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug by Alexander Gastrell
I would hardly use any compression at all. This kinda stuff needs to be dynamic, try velocity editing heaps and use as little eq as you can get away with. I feel like this track is over panned, there's nothing much happening in the middle of the stereo field. Let reverb and subtle stereo widening do...

Re: Kilasic - Streamline (Needs feedback please)
This actually reminds me of my older stuff heaps. First off, try mono-ising the bottom 200ish hz of the snare, it's kinda annoying having the punch of the snare in stereo. It's especially noticeable after the first drop. Try using a stereo shaper on some of the drop synths to widen them up a bit. Th...

Cookie Monsta & Funtcase - Atom Bomb [Photon Man Remix]
Just a heads up that this is just a WIP, it's getting there though. Kinda stuck on certain parts so I'd love to hear some feedback, however harsh. I'm aware the mix is shit, I'll fix that at some point. Also you'll have to click the link and open it in a new tab since soundcloud isn't letting me usi...

'if you can, grab yourself basslane by tone projects. it's a freeware plugin that mono-ises below a selected frequency, so you can mono the bass that's been widened in massive.

Re: best filter to use for growls?
If your looking for the typical Skrillexy roar synth (eg. the one in kill everybody), then you can go wrong with a highpass with a pretty high resonance. Also massive's double notch filter fed into a lowpass works nicely.

Re: Mixing snare reverb
Holy shit all that dudes tracks are exactly the same. As for the snare thing, his tunes are pretty bare, just the heavy basses and percussion. Leaves a lot of room for the snare tail to come through. If you can't get it to happen though try using a separate sample for the snare tail and mix it diffe...

Re: Unnamed WIP 'Brostep' Track (1)
Some cool synths in the drop, seems very static rhythmically to me though. I'd mess around with the drums a bit, make them follow the synths a bit more. Chuck some tom fills in there while ur at it. Main bass could use some stereo width also.

I'm really not that keen on sampling them straight from songs, was more wondering if anyone actually had some raw samples from a reggae sample pack or something.

Reggae chord samples? (you know, the off beat ones)
I'm just looking for some samples of clean guitar chords similar to that used in reggae tracks (the off beat stuff). I don't actually listen to reggae I just like reggae influenced EDM, inspired me to make some of my own. The track is in f# minor although I'd also like a g minor chord if that helps ...

Fuck man that drop is sick! Drums are punchy, mix is crisp. I personally would turn down the release on the string synth, but other that that this track is sick. Awesome work!

Re: Photon Man - Helios [Zomboy/xKore-ish Dubstep]
its alright, i can tell you probably went onto youtube and watched tutorials on how to make those sounds. not that its a bad thing, but imo im impressed more by the producer who creates his own sound. when you said it sounds like Zomboy, KTN and xKore you were spot on. That's a bit offensive since ...

Massive, mostly digigrain 2 on bend - , scrap yard and arctic (also bend - ). Double notch filter into a daft filter, distort to taste. Ohmicide helps. I might do a video series on growls n stuff soon, sub my new youtube channel to keep posted https://www.youtube.com/user/PhotonManTV

Re: Photon Man - Helios [Zomboy/xKore-ish Dubstep]
I like! That synth where I commented is real nice, what did you use to make it if you don't mind me asking? Only critical thing I would say is the sound that first comes in at 16 seconds sounds a little out of place to me. Too prominent? Not enough effects? Not sure. The rest of it was spot on thou...
