Re: WIP Thread - GIVE FEEDBACK TO OTHERS BEFORE POSTING!!!

and thats the whole problem. Youre not being "constructive". This whole "hold their hand" approach to feedback is a joke. It fits right in line with the whole self esteem bullshit psychology came out with long ago. If you goto a good music school, your instructor is not gonna be ...

Re: WIP Thread - GIVE FEEDBACK TO OTHERS BEFORE POSTING!!!

the amount of fakeness in this thread is killing me. Being "positive" about a sloppy tune is actually detrimental to someone trying to improve. All you are doing is making someone falsely confident in something that doesnt warrant it, so what motivates them to work hard and make something...

Re: WIP Thread - GIVE FEEDBACK TO OTHERS BEFORE POSTING!!!

i would never post "negative" feedback even if i hate a tune. i dunno i think you can deliver bad feedback in a nice way and the person still gets it. i mean i made lots of shitty tunes and i posted here and you can read between the lines what the person thinks. even the worst tune took e...

Re: WIP Thread - GIVE FEEDBACK TO OTHERS BEFORE POSTING!!!

@Paratroxic https://soundcloud.com/tiger_widow/seraphim-wip This is pretty good.. a lot better than most stuff here. I think it would sound even better if you went back and recorded yourself playing real instruments instead of using samples and synths. Real instrument recordings always sound a ton ...

Well, youve succesfully mimicked the robotic synth sounds that a lot of big producers use these days, but the song itself is rather bland and boring to my tastes.

Bass Volume and Fletcher munsen curves..

I have a general question about bass volume.. when you are compressing subs, do you have to individually turn up and down the notes so they are perceived as the same volume? Is it better to leave a sine sub alone with no compression since it will squeeze the lower notes more and the higher ones less...

Re: WIPs/unfinished tunes for feedback * no finished tunes *

@nootropy - honestly this needs loads of work. your kick sounds bad, the only part i liked in ur song was at 1:49 when that extra hat comes in. The synths all need work .. .. when your making something compare it to a released song from a label. @a new danger- too midrange and muddy sounding. also n...

yep I do, and no this isn't a place thats "supposed" to be helpful, its a place for ppl who are getting writers block to ask for another perspective to maybe get a helpful new look at their music, not a beginner who is too lazy to read the millions of tutorials listed in the sticky bible t...

Re: WIPs/unfinished tunes for feedback * no finished tunes *

mrthrfnk, the mixdown is actually not bad, although those hats might be too harsh on the ears at a super loud volume. Also your kick is kind of thin. the vocals dont come through very well either. those hats kind of drown it out, id eq them out a little and see if that works. as for the tune arrange...

Re: WIPs/unfinished tunes for feedback * no finished tunes *

Electric head spot on. People just make some tune, barely put any effort into it and post it wanting feedback. And since were all supposed to be "nice" to everyone, a whole bunch of sloppy musicians post something they barely developed. Just like electric head said, do a b comparisons to t...

@virus, your drum pattern isnt shuffling at all.. listen to some dub tracks and notice how the syncopation is going with triplets. Your beat is 4 on the floor ish. The reason i didnt comment before is im just not feeling it at all
