Re: Mala quotes (said to you personally)
I once asked Mala (mid DMZ rave,) what he thought about the eternal (i.e the cosmos), I think he said "what you have seen here tonight has happened in the cosmos, this in its self is amazing". I think he meant, each moment is unique and people should take notice when something amazing is h...

Re: Benga retires
people talk about so many of the original artists leaving, but aside from benga, skream, loefah, D1, headhunter, and some others, who do you consider to have "left"? do you consider kode9 to have left? zomby? cluekid? i just think in any musical genre that is now over a decade old, people...

Re: Benga retires
At the risk of steering this thread into another thread about how the 'good old days were', I think Benga's direction is similar to other producers of that era in that they can no longer create something original within that template and that the expectations of the media and mainstream audiences la...

Re: Benga retires
Bengal vs Hatcha DMZ LEEDS (2007 I think) smashed the room to bits (with PROPER dubstep), dubs for days, loads of unreleased stuff. Was legendary. Hatcha was doing some 8 bar mixing. It was madness. I think Benga combined electro sounds with Jazz and dubs sounds in a unique way. A lot of his old tun...

Re: Mala sets
Doesn't Mala frequently say he'd rather people made the effort to go to the dance and check it out in reality as the music is meant to be heard on a huge system? Hence the reason for not making EVERYTHING available for anyone to DL. Not knocking people wanting new Mystikz sets but I can see the poin...

Re: dmz - heartless ninja
Aye, beast of a tune. I think this is a good example of how producers experimented with more original ideas, taking risks etc. A lot of tunes all sound the same at the mo IMHO

I met RSD a few times and he seems to me to be a really humble, genuine and positive person.

Re: Toasty Appreciation
Ok legal disclaimer, if a Tory (or two) DOES get murked (thats 'murdered', for any actual Tory), I want to make it absolutely clear (unlike a Tory) that they will be properly buried (no expenses spared) and all charitable donations should go to Toasty for inciting such murderous joy in this jaded pr...

Re: Toasty - Metal
I'd like to hear this alongside loefah Trigga on the next 'now that's what the masses think is dubstep vol 38' (or whatever) you know, as a wild card. Finally some real music (again), not this half baked 'am I house or am I dub techno, even we dont know' crowd pleasing guff being flogged like cheap ...

Re: FWD>> & Rinse - Live @ End (22/02/08)
Anyone who would wish to access copyrighted material for free might want to apply some effort in gaining access to the various sources of this media, which of course takes some time, a little bit of thought and EFFORT. Good sets also, definitely worth finding.

Re: Jack Sparrow calls it a day.
FAO Jack Sparrow (and whoever will read): [I know all my posts make reference to DMZ Leeds but...] I remember your first set in the main room of DMZ Leeds (I think it was promoting Circadian). It reminded me of earlier sets there(d1, Mala, Youngsta) and reaffirmed my belief that there is still good ...
