easy all, i was just wondering if anyone could suggest a free alternative to audacity? something which is good for recording into with mics, recording mixes and for mp3 conversion? cos my audacity is being shit and audacity is refusing to load up the lamelib file which allows mp3 conversion... safe...

Just make drums that you like the sound of, they don't have to correspond to any particular category..

You should try EQing them so they sit better in the mix - adding verb on things won't necessarily fix it.

Usually 3 or 6 step delay with a lot of feedback and lots of reverb
