bukem was way ahead of his time.

early GLR releases - tayla, invisible man, jmj & ritchie (as parallel world), peshay, all classics.

he got a bit stuck in a rut later on, but he had the balls to be different, playing dreamy, atmospheric stuff at all the big raves back in 93, 94 - respect...

yeah, I think he did a DnB 12" for Bingo and did a broken album for Hospital as Phuturistix. There was also a broken album - 'Make Your Peace' - for Laws Of Motion...

there has been a trend over the last few years to book DJs to play their own productions - this supports the 'focus' rather than 'purism' idea, cos those producers are just playing their own sound, they're not selectors excluding other sounds... and yes, blue note was eclectic but so was the label -...

From a UK only stance, I'd like to see more varied lineups reflecting the various facets of what I consider to be one scene - Toasty on the same bill as DMZ, Search & Destroy playing after Hatcha, you get the idea.... Most recordbuyers/club punters/fans of the music buy stuff from across the bo...

what sort of mastering is done to a tune before it's cut to dubplate? is it much like the mastering a tune gets before a "proper" vinyl release? Depends who/where does it. They certainly don't spend as long as they (in my experience) do for a proper release. dubplates? all about CDs these...

I always thought Stereotyp was credited with writing one of the first dubstep tunes? Can't remember the name off the top of my head, but it was released on G-Stone. Although it might not be pure dubstep, I point you in the direction of This Ain't Tom & Jerry by Cousin Cockroach (aka Dego 4Hero)...
