Re: beef thread

I have never eaten beef cus my mum was paranoid about BSE and now I am vegetarian. Is it any good? Beef's so good that the (supposedly vegetarian) girl I went out with on Monday night got A SINGLE PINT down, ordered a cheeseburger and had a fair old bit of my steak. I love girls who's morals go out...

Re: Rock Climbing/Bouldering Ninjas?

Oh, and fwiw getting pumped out and broken at the end of 2-3 hours session is pretty normal and suggests that you're trying stuff that's hard enough and not slacking off. No matter how much you train, humans aren't built to operate at somewhere near maximum capacity for upwards of two hours, and it'...

Re: Rock Climbing/Bouldering Ninjas?

I climb quite a lot outdoors and in, but I'm fairly crap at it, probably because I like beer and pies too much.

It's amazing fun though, and does crazy things to your upper body strength. I'd thoroughly recommend it to anyone who's thinking of trying it.

Re: Crop Circles : Quest for Truth

The closed mindedness of those who believe there is a SCIENTIFIC EXPLANATION FOR EVERYTHING need to start looking with their mind and not just their eyes. Mephistopheles would have a field day, I swear. Seriously, some people need to start seeing the geometric symbols everywhere. I'm just looking a...

How could geometry not be a re-occuring theme of them given that they're, er, shapes?

(Btw the answer to your question is "because they look cool".)

Re: Office job versus "physically challenging" job

I think by and large the division is between unskilled / semi-skilled jobs and highly specialized jobs rather than physical vs non-physical, because highly specialized workers generally have a lot more bargaining power when it comes to conditions (including health and safety stuff) and hours. Workin...

Re: So is Lance Armstrong actually a drugs cheat then?

The problem with this sort of stuff is that if they officially stripped Armstrong of his TdF titles, they'd have to go a fair way down the ranking list to find someone clean to give them to. I mean, Jan Ullrich? Floyd Landis? I'm all in favour of coming down hard on doping and I'm glad that pro cycl...

Re: What's the Best City in the World?

Just remembered another one - Ghent seemed really nice while I was there. Sort of mid-way between Bruges and the real world. Not sure it's the best city in the world - I'm not sure it's really a city in the same way that London or San Fran or Berlin are - but it deserves an honourable mention. Also,...

Re: The future of piracy

Yeah and Reaper can be had legitimately for about 50 dollars, which is a reasonable price. I just don't like it much myself, we need more competition in that price range. But a lot of the reason that there isn't more competition in that range is that people use cracked copies of cubase (or FL or wh...

Re: What kind of booze do you like in your coffee?

I there like a cheaper glenlevit? Can't really justify buying a 100 quid bottle of something I've not tried, and even then.. That's only the really vintage stuff that goes for that much, just seen a bottle of 25 year vintage listed for £189, the 12 year single malt is about £30 a bottle Good whisky...

thats my point, technical is a very loose term meaning you know how to use the technology you have to the best advangtage so obviously if you can work your technology well it wont sound good I think the really big thing that happens in production discussions on the internet is that "technical ...
