Re: Monster Turbine Pro Copper Headphones
No matter how good they sound earbuds don't give you an accurate listening environment on the physical level. Over ears are the best you can do and are still not optimal. Earbuds give you a warped sense of spacial reality when listening because they don't provide space.

Re: The Reese Bass Thread
Not to stir anything up but I'm fairly certain that what makes a reese a reese is how you process it... not necessarily how it sounds. Its like a turkey club and a grilled cheese look and taste completely different but they're still sandwiches. In my personal opinion there can be low, midrange and e...

Re: I got 120$ for my birthday what could I get that is help
Okay so I have 120$ and I know I can probably get something that could help me out with music production so I'm just asking for suggestions. I already have KRK RP8 Monitors, AKAI Pro MPK49 MIDI Controller, and a Focusrite Saffire 8i6 Interface. Save it.. and then when someone invents a personality ...

Re: Quick Music Theory Q - Vm?
Vm is exactly what it says. If you're in a minor key the V is minor. in a major key you have 1Major 2minor 3minor 4Major 5Major 6minor 7diminished. In a minor key you have 1minor 2diminished 3Major 4minor 5minor 6Major 7Major. So the 5 chord of a minor key is minor. Perhaps they are referring to a m...

Ok here's what you do: 1. Go to the store purchase trident layers 2. Also purchase a kitkat bar 3. I like kitkat bars 4. Hire a hooker 5. Enjoy hooker 6. Pay her in trident layers (You can do that according to the trident layers commercials) 7. You just got a hooker for 1.99 8. Congratulations ~Day ...

Re: The Drums Thread
If they're into Brostep then doing the drums the way you said is technically the right way to go. Thats what the drums sound like in Brostep. Non-Dynamic explosions that are ready to tear the world in half lol. Its all part of the game.

Re: The dubstep tips super thread
A lot of bad advice I'm seeing just on the first page alone: 1. Normalization is just moving your master fader up or down. It is useless 2. For the people saying not to use a limiter on your master, that's absolute garbage. Just about every top-40 song in the past 20 years has been mastered with so...

Re: The dubstep tips super thread
The best thing anyone can do for a mix especially in dubstep because it has such powerful and full sounds but really for any genre of music is to make sure you are taking care of clashing frequencies. I'm sure most of us have seen Reso's masterclass but that one thing he said was soooo true. You got...

Re: The Reese Bass Thread
Its actually 3 reeses layered. I dont want to beef it up I said its not as hardcore as some that other people are doing. I dont want all my sounds to sound like they're tearing the earth in half all the time! The sub actually wasnt supposed to bounce with it I'm not sure why its there. It is a norma...

Re: The Reese Bass Thread
Here's a reese I've been toying around with from a new song I'm working on. Not sure if I'm 100% finished with it yet and its a little bit repetitive because its meant to sit in part of the song but you get the idea from the sound itself. Its not quite so hardcore as some of the other reeses that ha...

Re: The Reese Bass Thread
It has lost a tad bit of dynamic/punch. Its all very loud and malicious all the time now which can be good or bad it depends on what you're going for I guess.blinkesko wrote:I'd actually say nay, seems like it lost some of it's punch.

Re: The Reese Bass Thread
OH HELL YEAH haha thats quite delicious my friend! But still I would like to hear a bit more filter variation. Its really cool IMO when reese basses sound slightly different each time they hit. If you have any LFOs on make sure you dont have them restarting and I still stand by my notch filtering co...

Re: The Reese Bass Thread
Just a little notch filtering (Preferably with a filtering plugin (Tone2 Filterbank) so you can sync it to a cool lfo and have cool things happen rhythmically too) could give it a little bit more motion and variation in the sound and would really make it sound top notch imo. Cool sound man!
