best of black ops?....

Post by farmaz » Sat Jan 22, 2011 9:07 am

i know its "sublow" or whatever the latest tag for this kinda music is now called but anyone know anywhere to grab decent mixes of this label?.......

I got 3 but some of the tunes that come out on the label are terrible imo, i am alot more into the kinda "hoods up" "war" "invasion" - (The drop on that tune after the 29 seconds is too much)

anyone point me in the right direction please?.....

I have the the Horns VIP and the Still Heavy (I think thats what its called) and that vinyl gets rinsed.
Been struggling to find more from the Black Ops label though, seems like the old grime instrumentals are becoming harder to find

They used to have all of the tunes on their Soundcloud but they have taken them down now http://soundcloud.com/blackopssublow

All the tunes are on YouTube though

and you can get all of the records on Discogs http://www.discogs.com/label/Black+Ops

i have most of them, love war vip, battle etc.

was never keen on kettle, but i still got it at the time because of the hype surrounding it!

tracks like swallow still crack me up, could never play that one whilst my parents were in!

i got quite a few black ops records, definitely some of the heaviest tunes from the sublow period.

btw sublow was the name that was sort of floating around before grime, it's not a new term.

When uptown moved to wyld pytch
they put up almost the full back catalogue
for near £2 a pop. Definitely worth a check.

The original "spanish" (not Spanish fly) by Jon e cash is the best on the label.

Rahh, this takes me back. My personal favs are War V.I.P (the 4/4 version) and Spanish. The kicks on Spanish are too much.
