Biome

Post by murky21 » Tue Jun 14, 2011 12:08 pm

Basically we all know Biome has been blowing up recently since focusing on the halfstep and getting heavy DJ Support in Youngsta's live sets and Rinse radio show...

I headed to Manchester this weekend and caught him dj, and even though I was expecting big things, I was fucking shocked how sick it was... remember thinking several times that dubstep doesn't get any better than this. His DJ skills are seriously tight in a Youngsta-esque kind of way, pulled off some heavy double drops (one tune with Blank Space fucking went OFF) and not a single snare out of place even though he had his crew going fucking mental in the DJ booth hanging off his neck...

Too many massive tunes to mention but one in particular was beyond memorable, a new Biome tune "straight off the Ableton" that day, mashed the Saki bar up. Watch out for this one, will surely hear it in Youngsta's radio show soon enough! indigo - nevaeh went off in a big way as well...

Representing the deep and dark style of dubstep to the fullest, with some of his own dubs some of the biggest around at the moment, as well as massive tunes from both established and upcoming artists like Indigo, Synkro, Thelem, Killawatt, Madd + Black Box stuff, Versa, Sleeper etc.....

If you have somehow missed Biome's sound, check these two excellent mixes from Manchester based blogs Hedmuk ( http://hedmuk.blogspot.com/2011/05/featuring-biome.html ) and PYC Sessions ( http://www.pycsessions.com/2011/02/biom ... interview/ )

Can't wait for more releases to sit next to his already amazing back catalogue, including forthcomings on Mindset and a few other labels...
Some of his tunes that are floating about currently -

I know there is more clips so please add them if you have links! Out to promoters, lets get this man booked down south more, if you want proper weight, you won't regret it!
Large up to Biome + MCR massive :Q:

I completely agree.

I already thought he was a sick producer a couple of years ago and loved the work he was doing back then, also copped a copy of State Of Emergency / Agitated recently which was imo his best release of that time.
And eventhough it has been a little quiet around Biome for the last 2 years or so, which surprised me, I think it is defenitely safe to say that he is back. And better than ever.

Caught all his previous releases on Biscuit Factory, Subdepth etc. rated him a lot then; glad to see now his name is up there. Big up to yunx for the air-time in all honesty, there isn't a bigger stage for this style of music.

Don't think so no :(

He hates flying & hasn't been to Outlook before. Was thinking we should start a petition to get him there, would be so worth it, even if he has to train/bus it all the way!

PS. Nice one on the thread, definitely need to see him at outlook!

yeah the clip at the top of the thread is an older version, slightly more minimal.... if you listen to the Hedmuk mix, the newer version is in that gets rinsed... both big..

Aha. I was wondering why it sounded a little light. The version yunx has dropped is incredible. Snarling basslines ftw.

Biome's a big dj, been seeing him smash it for a couple of years up in manc.
Good to see saki bar got refurbed, the amount of times seeing plaster falling from the walls from the bass in there was legendary
Its still 2006

His tune's are large and his production is (somehow) getting tighter with each new tune, so glad he's getting some recognition.
