Dancefloor moments for me..

Kode9 dropping Aquafresh and mixing a dizzee rascal acapella over it.
Distance dropping Kromestar - Noize and Tunnidge - Brixton bass on a 50,000 watt system.
Chef playing headstrung back in 2008 and getting on the mic and saying "GET YA AIR GUITARS OUT FOR THIS ONE"
Cyrus set circa 2011 dropping miracles. He mixed it out of some serious evil dungeon stuff which was twisting my fragile little acid soaked brain infront of the speaker stack and as soon as I heard miracles came in it changed the vibe COMPLETELY. one of the best mixes ive ever heard. Never realised how uplifting that tune is.
getting drunk as fuck and hearing coki drop Badness/duppy soursop/emergency/marduk
Ramadanman playing the Trim harmonimix and I was the only person in the whole place brocking out to it.
Leon switch playing in the pouring rain at phat..10? dreary cold and wet and muddy at about 6am, it was getting light and kryptic minds vibe fitted it PERFECTLY - Six Degrees >>> out to the crew that were on the dancefloor for that set.

Hearing Dubstep for the very first time was my happiest moment.
Skrillex - Scary monsters was the song.
But still, a happier moment will probably come when I go to my first Dubstep show. I haven't had a chance to visit one yet.

2. when i listened to I love Dubstep album mixed by youngsta....just amazing
3. when i first heard Computation live
4. when some mess head told me to play Dutch Flowers...
5. hearing "i hate dubstep unless its your set"

MOST OF ALL:

loefah foundation set beginning of this year - midnight request line
the last system
last weekend objekt - goose that got away into widowmaker's set. dem a talk TMSV remix. rutten. a few i've forgotten.
this saturday lmao, some guy had a load of medi/dmz plates and was dropping them all. was in the toilet when highest strain came on and ran back across the park. it was sunny as hell and everything. quality day

they're all happy moments man. i always get mad excited when a tune i love comes on so i could go on

as for records ive bought
i nearly cried when i left the shop with objekt001 and disko rekah/all of a sudden
buying war dub was pretty special for me, even if the sleeve is wrecked
any amount of time i have spent in a shop listening to records is time well spent

if anything the happy moments are only increasing in number and intensity

My happiest dubstep moment (and I'm relatively new to this stuff) transpired recently at my school prom. A dude one or two years above me was DJing, mostly jump-up DNB and a standard collection of brostep (which I like, though I don't love it like proper DNB or deep dubstep). Most people had left the dancefloor to smoke/drink out on the balcony after the house DJ (another pupil) stopped playing. I was skanking about, semi-drunk and happy as can be, when Rusko - Somebody to Love comes on. I like that track. But then the drop comes and BOOM, it's the Skream remix! SO I SKANK OUT EVEN HARDER, not having expected the DJ to follow Skrillex and Doctor P tunes with such a real banger.

Nobody else liked it of course, but I was so fucking happy.

innit, I'm sure there's is many more that I can't actually remember
For a few years we were having DJ's direct from the UK playing here every fortnight - starting early 2007 I think. Got into at just the right time. Since the earthquakes it's changed to 1 or 2 a year. :(

Also, even though it's always been one of my favourite sets, in retrospect I'm stoked that I got to see Vex'd play live before they broke up.

ALSO, Deadboy dropping Joe - Claptrap in brisbane.
And Ikonika doing the craziest clean 3 hour set a year later. That girl is a machine. She played a tune off her album, Yoshimitsu I think, and because I played before her I was able to wheel it without getting kicked out

Nah, the DJ who was on first played house music...that would have been cool though.

It really was, it comes dangerously close to being one of my greatest musical experiences ever, it's lagging just behind the numerous Cardiacs gigs i've been to (particularly the secret one at the bull & gate) and seeing Between The Buried And Me play my favourite album of all time in it's entirety from start to finish
