Rewind Forward, Tape-Echo

Post by 150Grams » Fri Jan 11, 2013 2:41 pm

Big up to all these lads.
Hotline Recordings, No Corner, Bandulu & all them others.

Great customer service(communication), radio shows, interviews, design, all of it.

Strictly Dubplate servants!

PS. if you're willing to sell Gorgon Grime cassette, may it be the original, red or golden edition - I'm up for it, same with BANDULU001

Hopefully I'll be seeing the crews at a dance in the future, bless!

Yes, absolutely love this shop. Would love to go and check out a physical shop if they ever get one, reckon it'd be sick. Even the stuff that I don't pick up is interesting in its own way. Solid group of guys from the contact I've had, would love to get some of them to Night Tracks for a chat, they have so much stuff on the go at any one time.

No Corner is one of the most interesting labels atm I've found.

Need to get down to Bristol more often to reach some of the nights they're involved with too.

Got the first issue today, proper read - worth the money, definetely.

It starts off like this:

Tape-Echo is an ink-stained and dog-eared, physical reaction
against the internet's insatiable appetite for the next big thing,
the spawning of countless cooki-cutter blogs, full of lazy
re-posts, stolen content and clumsily-rehashed press releases
that seem to pass for music 'journalism' these days.

It comes at a time when hype, hit counters and 'followers' seem
more important than creating anything with any real subsctance.

Tape-Echo was created with the intention of creating a small
yet public arena where new electronic music can develop on
its own terms and at its own pace, operating below the hype
machines radar.

The slower pace of the print world gives us the space to compile
well-researched, in-depth and original articles with bespoke
photography and art work that aim to inform and engage the
reader as well as providing useful information on ways of
supporting our DIY scene.

Tape-Echo is about getting away from the computer screen.

It's about writing original articles, and documenting happenings
in the underground electronic music scene.

It's about the appreciation of quality not quantity, a celebration
of the physical world with all its flaws and imperfections. It's ink
on pages, it's films in cameras, it's records on turntables and
empty coffee cups.

It is a community-focused publication.
