Anyone know how many releases they had? I know J Da Flex was behind some of them tunes.

Yeah, that's right. Think J started the label actually. Ride It Riddims was before this I think.

Nah, Ride it Riddims were some other guys, kinda got involved in the early days a bit with Ammunition but didn't follow it through.

Production wasn't all that, esp compared to Zed or El-B at the time.

Ride It riddims

Post by djrum » Tue Dec 04, 2007 12:37 pm

The one I've got's not on there,,, can't find it anywhere... productions well slick on one of the tunes, and pretty rago on th'others, but raw still... Think it was Warlock that told me it was SltMob.

Tune called Fiya I think... and a version of Buju Banton't Champion, and one oother.

Maybe it's Vol.4 but it just a white

I got one of these under the idea it was one of El-b's pseudonyms (gotta love the e-bay lying as sales tactic). It's kinda simplistic but some really nice grooves.
Hmm....

I always thought so. I only have the first 2, but...

Ok, now I'm gonna spend what's left of my life searching for it all around the web... sucks not to live in the UK sometimes... :x

B1 - ready
B2 - Small Step

I don't know which tune that is but there's a brotherhood tune with the lyric "don't know what to do.... don't know what to say" with the most amazing wubbling bassline and some kind of pitched down(?) strings. Utterly amazing tune but I can't find it anywhere, UV played it a bit on subfm. Any ideas? I need this tune more than any other.

^^ The tune you're talking about is the Brotherhood dub mix of KCA's "Spirit", included on the first release of their label Virtuoso Dubs. Wicked release, there's an El-B remix on the flip which is also essential. I'm not sure where you can find it, but probably eBay or a second hand shop is your best bet

The Fiya tune in the Ride It Ragga Riddims is finally the one I was talking about, I found audio here and it's definately the same one Jay Da Flex used to play. Still couldn't find the record though

DavidM found it actually, the man is a legend. HTFR have one copy left if anyone needs a copy. I haven't found it anywhere else.

Does anyone know if there were any other releases on Virtuoso Dubs?
