forum restore

Post by badger » Wed Oct 22, 2014 9:33 pm

some of you may have noticed today that wub deleted his account and when this happened, all of his posts were deleted with it

we felt it wasn't good for the community to lose so many posts from such a massive contributor, especially in the production forum where wub contributed a great deal to the forum, so we have restored the database to a previous state where his posts are still here

unfortunately this means that any new posts which were made today will have been lost when the database was restored to the previous state, so we apologies to any members who have lost their posts and for the inconvenience caused

however, so that these posts are not completely lost, we have temporarily created a copy of the forum database which has all new posts from the time between when wub deleted his account, and the time when the restore was performed. this copy of the forum can be found at the link below, so please feel free to login and copy any missing posts over to the live forum

https://devel.dubstepforum.com/

i’m sure you’ll all join the dsf team in thanking wub for all his tireless work for the community over the years

you’ll be missed x :w:

Probably something personal considering that the mods don't want to tell us.

Wub was the most active mod and, imo, the top contributor to this site over the last few years. The time and effort spent in the Production forum in particular have been massively useful to many people. I'm genuinely gutted he has decided to leave the forum and wish him well in whatever he puts his efforts into now.

I make music as Forsaken, you can DL all my unreleased (and a couple released) bits here.

This really bums me out.

Badger, can you help us understand this a little better?

Does wub's leaving have anything to do with his relationship with the owner of the board, or any other aspect of the board's administration or moderation?

to anyone concerned about lost posts, we've created a temporary read only copy of the forum which covers all new post made between the deletion and the restore (and everything before)

this copy of the forum can be found at the link below, so please feel free to login and copy any missing posts over to the live forum

no nothing like that

wub would have posted to explain if he'd wanted it to be public
