Some of you fuckers need to fix up fast. I don't need to be going to a dubstep rave and seeing your fucked up off beat movements man. Also stop looking like tramps and stinking like shit. I know this music is grim but I don't need to be catching a whiff you get me?

Also if you are white and have dreads then please go back to the breakcore scene.
Spoon out your nan.

Its' best not to worry about planning 'moves' just go where the music takes you. If the bass doesn't inspire some form of physical reaction in you, there must be something wrong with your body's connection to the brain. You shouldn't even have to think about what to do if you're feeling the music.

One good thing about dubstep raves is at least the smelly guys keep their distance... Not like big cheesy dance parties at Turnmills if you so much as look at a guy he's grinding on you. There was one the other night though that did not dance at all just followed me round the floor staring at me. None of this creepy behaviour at DMZ please... Stick to ogling the speakers not me please!

Fuggers. Ripped off me forum from dubstep oz & turned it into a fugwit commentary. Stick to the subject stnuc. Dubstep & dance! Use ya brains ya pommie druggies. Dance, body movement, is more important than ya egotrippin' approachments. When dubstep becomes trendoid wanking it's dead & the septic's 'll move in. 'Carn brothers (& some sisters) in dub's IDM form, move us forward! (Churchill's fullmoon rising speech 2008)

pk ...(used to be chewing gum) ...respect honesty (not shitfaced irrelevance). I'm saying: dubstep appeals ...to me: body-wise, to others headwise or culturewise. Man, to me, it's the music, along with minimal, that I've imagined since the anticyclone into consciousness. Maybe that's obscure but, being human and dubstep-aware, you get my drift, eh?Ooroo.

Agreed. That's one of the reasons why it's nice that DMZ and Plastic People are so dark. You can have a little skank and not have to look at or be looked at by other people. It's nice to feel like you're more or less alone with the sub. Other people become faceless bodies.
:) very true..i like 2 think when i go 2 these dark places im more or less going on a date with the subs!!

Sincere apologies northern steppas. I was pissed and passionate. Sooo looking forward to getting down to Sin City to shove my head into a big left speaker with one of your progressive compatriates on the decks. Can you send out Unknown or convert Deepchild while he's there. Appreciate the perspectives here even if you don't spiral yourself.

"...seeing your fucked up off beat movements man..."

"What's with white people with dreads?"

Jealousy from a deaf, pink mon wif long, spiralled hair?

Not that I'm enamoured meself with the 70s time-warped, would-be rastas but, if you listen close, there's interstitial music in doublestep (to avoid the orangement) that says things directly to the body. That's why I don't skank to boring reggae anymore.

Besides, you don't have to watch us offbeats; watch the ladies, the clumsy, the beautiful, the cool, the lads, the tourists, the trendoids etal or, better still, get off your hh and join your fellow (wonderful) mutants in idiosyncratic body movements.

...and I'll try to not make assumptions meself.

DEEEEEP - this bredda knows about the consciousness ting. ill see u on the other sde boss. yeh when it comes to dance its all about just brockin out in a serious rudeboy fashion. i remember i must of been in one dmz - just arrived, made my prescence felt - then - some hippy dreaded norweigan poet look a like tapped me on the shoulder and asked me if i could move a bit so he could see - i thought i was in beadles about as it was tremendously comedic

i-line wrote:Wtf is up with people's dancing at dubstep raves nowadays? I always used to like the fact that you could pick up a couple of new moves at a dubstep dance, but now it's all about 'brock the fuck out' every time.

At the last DMZ, with the few very notable exceptions of Silkie, N Type's girl and that girl with the white legs (at the front left), most people looked like they were dancing to some next rhythm. Limbs all over the place.

What happened to all the energy, attitude and finesse? How can we address the co-ordination difficulties of the dubstep punters? Is it the same in other countries? Is anyone else bothered? :)
Simple way to address these issues: lead by example.
