Which Dubstep Artists are Strictly Ableton for Performance?

Post by ill gates » Sun Mar 29, 2009 8:54 pm

i know i am... never once had anyone hassle me about it either.

dealing with needles, too many wires, unplugging shit while someone else is playing, etc. is just WAY too much of a hassle for me. and i really can't be bothered with dubplates personally.

i'm not dissing anyone else who uses vinyl, dubplates, cdjs, serato, etc... to each their own. i'm just curious who else out there is strictly ableton.

I've always used Albetron. Er before that I used Traktor with pretty mixed/random results lol.

I've actually played a few ableton sets out now, leaves lots of room to be really creative which is fun...certainly alot easier to make smooth mixes...but i personally feel more engaged and into my sets when playing records..

Kode 9 used it when I saw him last. Shackleton uses it now. Shiva uses it exclusively when possible I know, but she's also been rocking on decks for years.

has the apc40 come out yet? looks amazing, can't wait to get my hands on it. this year is hugely expensive to be an ableton user with the apc40, new version and max for live. I want them all!
