SICK: DJ AMMO - Vintage Dubstep & Grime Mix

Post by ammo » Sun Aug 17, 2008 4:57 pm

I've seen a few posts reminiscin about old tunes and sounds so thought I'd post this mix I did in 2004 carried out on a pair of Gemini turntables. At the time I didn't know of any difference between grime and dubstep and so I called this mix 'Pure Grime', as my response to Pure Garage. I still love this mix.

58 mins in length.

1. Riko & Target – Stay Calm
2. East Connection – We’re Ready
3. East Connection – We’re Ready Wiley Remix
4. Roll Deep – Regular Bass Mix
5. Lethal B – Lava Riddim
6. Jon E Cash – Kettle Special
7. D’Explicit – Wannabe Sonata
8. Horsepower Productions - Sholay
9. Danny Weed vs Whitney Houston – It’s Not Creeper But It’s Ok
10. Plasticman – Pump Up The Jam
11. Menta – Snake Charmer
12. MarkOne – Raindance
13. Darqwan – Said The Spider VIP Mix
14. Tinchy Strider – Pied Piper
15. MarkOne – Stargate 92
16. Kano – Ice Rink
17. All In One – Ice Rink
18. Riko – Ice Rink
19. Sharkie Major – Ice Rink
20. Breeze – Ice Rink
21. Scratchy – Ice Rink
22. Plasticman – Camel Ride
23. MarkOne – Hear This
24. Skibadee & DeeKline – Man A Man
25. Plasticman – Hard Graft
26. Wiley – Pick Yourself Up Remix (Instrumental)
27. Wizzbit – Old Skool
28. DJ Marsta – Fibre Terrah Danjah Remix
29. All In One – Straight Vocal

No problem Start:Stop.

Thanks a lot guys!

Yeah they're definitely not the best decks in the world but I love em still, they my babies.

Yeah love Said the Spider, that tune had me hooked into the grime/dubstep sound. Fibre is massive aswell, the tune just stays in yor head for hours.

lol yeah, i guess it was more of a vintage grime era, the production used to really excite me the way it was pushing the boundaries. loved the whole ice rink thing after a few listens, although u can probably tell from the tracklist. not really feelin as much of the new grime tunes, but really feel like dubstep is taking things to another level now.

cheers primate.

any other comments are always appreciated :)
