Steps to make these boards better;

- contribute more
- be supportive of other users
- don't be a dick for the sake of it

Having more mods wont automatically mean these three things are followed, and could even lead to a further dissolution of community spirit if we have to clamp down further on people not obeying them.

The marked change we've seen in Dubs since this thread has been an awesome step in the right direction, IMO :Q:

I generally follow a few guidelines that I have created for myself since I used to frequent a hip hop forum for the past decade that had a tight knit community.

1. I generally try to comment on posts from those who have zero replies, and/or those who have a ton of views but very few replies. Or those who I know have taken the time to reply to me in the past.

2. I always want to leave a thread with some meaningful impact from my post. Always giving constructive/positive crit/feedback.

3. I always post replies in at least 3 threads prior to me starting a topic asking for feedback on one of my tunes.

I think if more people adopt any of these prerequisites (and I know some do) we'd have a very good formula going. Obviously those aren't the only things. I just wanted to share my thoughts.

I'm new here but i'm glad to see this thread. I left a few communities because of the fact that the members were not tight knit, or were a bunch of assholes but seeing that you all are aware of problems and actually talk about ways to fix them makes me want to be apart of this community. So thank you to all of you, and I hope that I can also be of help in the future.

Jeeze Wub if this is an improvement I dread to think what it mustve been like before. What happened to the good old days of people actually caring about other people? What's the reason we're all on DSF? To hear some fucking great, original music. Yet nobody seems to want to do that.
Big ups, heres to a good year anyway. :w:

All people have to do get this forum going again is spend some time giving others feedback i remember when there used to threads that when into hundreds of comments now its unlikey that there is any past ten.

There are to many people on here with one post that throw their toys out of the pram becuase nobody is listening to there track, Contribute to the forum people not hard. I think if people are not actively commenting on others when they post up a track thier post should get deleted. Harsh but then people will give something back. I dont agree with you should have x amount of post to use the forum as everyone has to strart somewhere but something needs to be done.

I would like to se the forum split up into sub genres, i know everyone hates sub genres but everyone has there own styles they like. Personally brostep has ruined this forum with to many people making same boring boring tracks that just have 100 massive bass sounds thrown in but i digress.

Then all the producers can then find similar music and not have wade though all the rubbish before you get to something that you like.

I haven't been around for all that long but I have friends who have and from what I've seen from them this was the spot to come with your new stuff. My experience over the past couple months is pretty sad to put it bluntly. Now, I can see a lot of agreement about people talking over each other rather than listening and waiting their turn but nobody is doing anything about it... I read somebody in this thread saying its over saturation and a lot of poor work. TELL THEM ITS SHIT! Tell them where the sub drops etc, that's why we post on here - to learn and grow. If you're too lazy to give feedback, why should you receive any, regardless of how big your forum dick is. I make an effort to comment on the 3 or 4 latest posts before I start drowning other people out with my own music. It's fucking simple. I'm writing this now because I posted a track on january 9th - in 24 hours my post got 0 views outside my own checks and there had been 9 new posts. 24 hours after that there were another 8-10 posts and one THREE THREADS since mine had comments! WTF! Thats over a dozen (semi) talented (haha) minds with individual taste and potential for endless feedback blatantly ignoring others and it pisses me off - especially because some of those people MUST have read this thread too and agreed with Echoi. I doubt anyone is going to see this as well and, like music today, most of what I'm saying has probably already been said which I think is the underlying problem here. Anyway I had to vent. Comment before you post, the forum will be happier. Fuck everyone.

If Cotti can't even get a single comment then there is no hope for anyone on this forum.

Lol even when I used to hit up 5-10+ threads for each Track I'd post for feedback the response was always minimal, the same way it is now.

Gonna come by a few times a week and try to give some proper feedback. As of now. Lot of wise things been said, but it all starts with just doing it. If every single member of this forum puts in three comments a week, then we're all back in business.

Sorry, this is rather offtopic, but I've never used this section of the forum before. The way I see it, this one is for finished tunes only, and if I'd like to post a WIP, then there's the thread in the Production subforum. Is that correct?

I started producing recently and I'm not ready yet to show my efforts, but I'm excited to see how many tunes are posted here. Will try to be up to date with this section, big ups! :)

someone needs to start a new thread that has previously been talked about, even possibly 2. One for lesser experienced producers and one for more established producers, then we can all get the feedback rolling!

We have an entire forum here for Dubs, and a WIP thread for unfinished stuff.
