MUST DIE!'s Fever Dream part 1 Bass

Postby KillTheNetwork » Tue Dec 24, 2013 3:27 pm

so MUST DIE!'s new album is insane! and the one song that just blew my mind was Fever dream part 1, that raspy growly bass is awesome and has that MUST DIE! feel to it like from his track Octopus. so do any of you guys have any ideas on how the sound was made? no i'm not trying to be unorignal and copy him i'm just really interested in that bass sound.

i got something similar with Massive, a flanger and EQ automation. Not really that close but the same FX chain I think. Try playing with different wavetables with bend +- to get the base growl, then stick it through a light phaser or flanger and then do some EQ automation on it, and you should get some decent growls. Not sure exactly which wavetables though, they will make a huge difference, but the effects chain is the same.
