Awful or Pompous Band Self-Descriptions

Post by alphacat » Tue Nov 19, 2013 11:07 pm

I'll start. Leaving the "artists" to be anonymous since they're almost always not worth listening to.

From Soundcloud:
To describe -------- would be akin to describing color to a blind man. No attribute can apply itself wholly to this music, because I strive to disassociate each song from the previous. Each track is a result of days, maybe even weeks worth of work and digging. I reach in to pull out that which I cannot convey otherwise. This is who I am.

Yes. Also, any write up that uses the word "soul" in any way, shape, or form.

Another:
-------- started on the beautiful day of August 14th 2007. It was a quite sunny day, just like any other day in Huntington Beach, California; a perfect day to fly a medium-sized vibrant rainbow butterfly kite. But instead, ----- and ------ (yes, they're sisters) started to become inquisitive about their new Apple desktop and decided to "[expletive] around" on Garageband. After two hours of intense physical labor filled with blood, sweat and [expletive], they came up with the first hit, 'I Like Money.' They decided that maybe since the Garageband loops and vocal recordings (aka yelling at the Apple desktop monitor since they had no recording system whatsoever) were SO AMAZING, they should make a music Myspace. They realized, upon creating the Myspace, that they did not have an extravagant name to go along with their new hit. The two quickly decided upon --------- because it tied into the name of the song, 'I Like Money.' Within hours after posting the first song, they received a [expletive] load of online attention and within weeks, were already on the Myspace Top Artist Charts.

These tossers should be exposed so comments can be left.

There can be no stopping the musical tour de force that is RAYMAN.

Born in the slums of New Delhi, he quickly rose to the top of the mountain of aspiring Bollywood beatmakers with his razor-sharp tabla licks and streetsmart good looks. Having conquered all of the Indian music scene and grown bored, he then decided the next natural outlet for him to show the world his greatness would be Dubstep.

Dubstep has never been the same.

I'm guessing its the latter unless im really optimistic.

he's been newly signed to Mala's Deep Medi label, perhaps the most revered seal of approval in true-skool Dubstep circles.

With a sound that is perpetually nostalgic, yet equally refreshing, and heavy enough to shock the toughest of sound systems, _______’s music displays a binary relationship between ‘Foundation Sound’ homage and Forward-Motion thought. Spacious textures, heavily built sub-frequencies and intricate execution of minimalism are but a few significant ways in which his music can be described.

When I first discovered Dubstep sometime around 2005 it gripped me. Somehow it expressed my emotion and personality in a way Pop and whatever other music genres that people listen to, couldn’t.

I’m not usually one for hippy statements like that but there’s no other way to describe it… it defined me.

I wondered how I could make some kind of mark on this music scene. At first I thought DJing would be my way in, but it became clear to me that it wouldn’t satisfy, as playing other peoples music wasn’t expressive enough and didn’t give me any means to be creative.

I then looked a bit further and found producing.

Producing was it… I could actually get my crazy ideas down in some kind of real format and make something that was in tune to my exact emotion. [more hippy bollocks but bare with me].

This producing thing grew and grew on me and the more I did it, the more frustrating it became. I could spend hours experimenting with knobs and buttons and come up with a bassline not strong enough to knock even your gran over.

But I persevered… little by little, what I was making was becoming more and more listenable. I got some nice comments from my friends, and even [in the face of adversity] my parents.

I created my first full track on the 16th of October, 2010… and in the past three months created 8 more, each getting a little more interesting than the last, up to recently when my mate, after hearing my newest work-in-progress, said to me the words that every producer craves to hear: ‘you didn’t really make that, did you?’

Which brings me right up to here, 2011.
I’d really appreciate you having a listen to my stuff and letting me know what you think. :)

Dusk + Blackdown back in the earlier days of dubstep had an eastern flavour to their tunes.

The "Rayman" guy is Indian and a famous Indian musician, so he might be making dubstep influenced from these guys or wank stuff. :6:
